Battery Field Service Engineer

We are seeking a motivated Battery Field Service Engineer to join our team. The successful candidate will be responsible for providing high-quality on-site installation, maintenance, and repair services for battery systems and related equipment. This is a hands-on role requiring strong technical skills, attention to detail, and a commitment to safety and customer satisfaction.

Key Responsibilities:

• Installation & Maintenance:
• Install, commission, and maintain battery systems for a variety of applications, including backup power systems, renewable energy storage, and critical infrastructure.
• Conduct regular preventive maintenance on battery systems, including testing, inspections, and performance checks.
• Ensure the proper installation of various types of battery systems, including lead-acid, lithium-ion, and other specialized battery technologies.
• Troubleshooting & Repairs:
• Diagnose and troubleshoot battery system issues on-site, identifying faults and providing effective solutions.
• Repair or replace faulty battery components, including batteries, chargers, and other related equipment.
• Perform root cause analysis for recurring problems and provide long-term solutions to ensure system reliability.
• Customer Support:
• Act as the main point of contact for customers during service visits, offering technical support and guidance as needed.
• Provide clients with recommendations on improving battery system efficiency, performance, and longevity.
• Conduct customer training on proper battery maintenance, handling, and safety procedures.
• Documentation & Reporting:
• Complete service reports, including detailed descriptions of tasks performed, findings, and recommendations.
• Maintain accurate records of service activities, inventory usage, and any parts or equipment used.
• Provide regular updates to management regarding service status and any challenges encountered.
• Travel Requirements:
• This role requires travel to client sites for service calls, with potential overnight stays depending on location.
• Skills:
• Strong knowledge of battery systems, charging technologies, and associated power management systems.
• Familiarity with industry standards and safety regulations related to batteries and electrical equipment.
• Excellent diagnostic and troubleshooting skills.
• Ability to work independently and manage multiple tasks efficiently.
• Strong written and verbal communication skills.

Preferred Qualifications:

• Certification in battery system maintenance or electrical engineering (e.g., manufacturer certifications, OSHA certifications).
• Experience with UPS systems or renewable energy applications (e.g., solar storage systems).
• Knowledge of power distribution systems and electrical systems.
