We are seeking a Head of Legal and Compliance who will provide strategic legal direction, ensuring comprehensive protection across all areas of the business. If you are ready to shape and lead this critical function, we would love to connect.

Role Overview:

The Head of Legal and Compliance will be responsible for overseeing all legal, regulatory, and compliance matters, ensuring adherence to global laws, industry regulations, and best practices in the Data, Insights, and Analytics industry. This role will involve managing legal risks, negotiating complex contracts, overseeing data privacy compliance, and supporting business growth strategies.

The ideal candidate will have extensive experience in corporate law, deep knowledge of the SaaS, data, and market research industry, and the ability to navigate legal complexities in a data-driven environment.

Key Responsibilities:

- Legal Strategy & Corporate Governance - Provide strategic legal guidance to the executive team and business leaders.

- Oversee corporate governance matters, including board meetings, filings, and policy compliance.

- Manage M&A transactions, investor relations, and corporate structuring in alignment with business objectives.

- Compliance & Data Privacy (Data, Insights & Analytics Industry Expertise)

- Develop and implement compliance frameworks aligned with global data privacy laws (GDPR, CCPA, DPDP Act, etc.).

- Ensure legal and ethical compliance in data collection, processing, and AI-driven analytics.

- Work closely with research, insights, and analytics teams to mitigate risks related to consumer data usage, AI-generated insights, and intellectual property.

- Contract Management & Negotiations - Draft, review, and negotiate complex commercial contracts related to market research, data licensing, SaaS agreements, and technology partnerships.

- Manage vendor, client, and partner agreements, ensuring compliance with data security and confidentiality clauses.

- Regulatory & Risk Management - Stay ahead of evolving global regulations in data analytics, AI, financial compliance, and research methodologies.

- Establish risk mitigation strategies for emerging legal challenges in AI-driven insights and market research.

- Collaborate with external legal counsel for specialized cases and litigation support.

- Building & Scaling the Legal & Compliance Team

- Recruit, mentor, and lead a high-performing legal and compliance team.

- Foster a culture of legal excellence, risk awareness, and ethical business practices.

Qualifications - Education, Experience & Skills

Must-Have:

- 15+ years of experience in corporate law, regulatory compliance, and commercial transactions.

- Prior experience in the Data, Insights & Analytics industry, SaaS, Market Research, or a data-driven business environment.

- Expertise in data protection laws (GDPR, CCPA, DPDP Act), technology contracts, and IP law.

- Strong negotiation and stakeholder management skills, especially in cross-border contracts.

- Ability to develop compliance programs for data governance and regulatory reporting.

- Proven leadership experience in building and managing legal teams.

Good to Have:

- Experience handling AI and machine learning ethics, regulatory compliance, and intellectual property rights in data analytics.

- Background in working with government agencies, regulatory bodies, or industry associations in data compliance matters.
