Senior Accountant

Job Overview:
We are seeking an experienced and detail-oriented Senior Accountant to join our dynamic finance team. The ideal candidate will have a 8 to 10 years of experience in accounting, with expertise in financial reporting, reconciliation, tax compliance, and accounting software, including Tally. The Senior Accountant will manage complex accounting tasks, ensure compliance with accounting standards, and support financial audits, contributing to maintaining the accuracy and integrity of the organizations financial data.

Role & responsibilities

• Financial Reporting:
• Prepare and review accurate and timely financial statements (monthly, quarterly, and annual).
• Ensure financial reports comply with accounting standards, regulations, and organizational policies.
• Coordinate with other departments to gather necessary financial data for reporting.
• General Ledger Management:
• Oversee and maintain the general ledger and reconciliation of accounts.
• Manage journal entries, accruals, and adjustments to ensure accurate financial records.
• Month-End and Year-End Close:
• Lead the month-end and year-end closing processes.
• Ensure the timely preparation of financial statements, proper allocation of expenses, and revenues.
• Audit Support:
• Prepare relevant documentation and schedules for internal and external audits.
• Address audit inquiries and provide necessary financial data.
• Tax Compliance:
• Assist with preparation and filing of taxes (VAT, sales tax, income tax) in compliance with applicable laws.
• Ensure timely tax filings and resolve any tax-related issues.
• Cash Flow and Budgeting:
• Monitor cash flow and prepare cash forecasts.
• Assist in budgeting and financial planning processes.
• Process Improvement:
• Recommend and implement improvements to accounting processes and systems.
• Collaborate with IT or external vendors to enhance accounting software and processes.
• Team Leadership & Training:
• Provide guidance and mentorship to junior accounting staff.
• Oversee the daily tasks of junior accountants and help resolve complex accounting issues.
• Tally Management:
• Maintain accounting records using Tally ERP software.
• Generate reports, financial statements, and perform reconciliations within Tally.
• Ensure accurate data entry and ensure smooth operation of Tally-based processes

Preferred candidate profile

• Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field (CPA, CA, or equivalent certification preferred).
• Minimum of 10 years of accounting experience, with at least 5 years in a senior accounting role.
• Expertise in Tally ERP for accounting, reporting, and reconciliation.
• Strong knowledge of accounting principles, practices, and financial regulations (IFRS, GAAP, etc.).
• Advanced proficiency in Excel and other accounting software (e.g., SAP, Oracle, QuickBooks).
• Strong analytical, organizational, and problem-solving skills.
• Ability to work under pressure and meet tight deadlines.
• Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
• Attention to detail and a high level of accuracy.
• Experience with tax reporting and compliance.
• Experience with international accounting standards and multi-currency transactions.
• Industry-specific experience (e.g., manufacturing, healthcare, technology).
• Knowledge of ERP systems and automation tools is a plus.
