We are seeking a dynamic and results-driven Business Development Engineer with a focus on Data Acquisition Systems (DAS) to join our team. This role will involve identifying, developing, and securing new business opportunities in markets such as automotive, off-highway, mobile hydraulics, and aerospace, specifically targeting companies that require advanced data collection, monitoring, and analysis solutions. The ideal candidate will have a strong technical background in automotive systems, particularly in data acquisition technologies, as well as proven experience in business development.
Identify and prospect new potential customers in the automotive industry, specifically targeting OEMs, Tier-1 suppliers, and testing centres.
Generate leads, qualify prospects, and manage the sales pipeline from initial contact to contract negotiation and close.
Serve as a technical consultant to potential clients by presenting the features, benefits, and technical specifications of DAS products.
Collaborate with the engineering and product teams to understand customer requirements and customise solutions accordingly.
Research and analyse market trends, competitor activities, and customer demands to identify emerging opportunities.
Develop and implement targeted business development strategies to expand the company s market share in the region.
Keep up-to-date with industry developments in automotive data acquisition technologies, ensuring that solutions align with current market needs.
Build and nurture long-term relationships with key decision-makers, influencers, and stakeholders in the automotive sector.
Attend industry events, trade shows, and networking functions to strengthen the companys presence and brand reputation.
Track sales activities, including lead generation, customer communications, and progress towards sales targets.
Bachelor s degree in engineering (Mechanical, Electrical, Automotive Engineering, or related field).
Minimum of 3-5 years of experience in sales, business development, or engineering roles within the automotive industry, with a focus on Data Acquisition Systems or related technologies.
Proven track record of successful sales and business development within the automotive sector.
Strong understanding of Data Acquisition Systems (DAS), automotive testing, telemetry, sensors, and related hardware/software solutions.
Familiarity with automotive engineering processes, product development cycles, and testing requirements.
Experience with CRM software (e.g., Salesforce, HubSpot) and sales analytics tools.
Knowledge of automotive industry standards and regulatory requirements related to data acquisition and testing.
