Position Title: Drone Development Engineer (Integration)

About the Role:

We are seeking a dedicated and detail-oriented Drone Development Engineer (Integration) to join our team. In this role, you will focus on integrating hardware, software, and systems to create fully functional drone platforms. You will collaborate with multidisciplinary teams to ensure the seamless operation of various components, from payloads to communication systems, and deliver innovative drone solutions for applications across industries.

Key Responsibilities:

System Integration:

• Integrate avionics, propulsion systems, sensors, and communication modules into drone platforms.
• Collaborate with hardware and software teams to ensure system compatibility and optimal performance.
• Implement and test power distribution systems, wiring, and electronic connections.

Testing & Validation:

• Conduct rigorous ground and flight tests to validate system integration.
• Troubleshoot and resolve issues related to hardware-software compatibility, communication protocols, and sensor accuracy.
• Optimize drone systems for stability, performance, and safety in varying environmental conditions.

Payload Integration:

• Customize and integrate payloads such as cameras, multispectral sensors, and LIDAR for specific applications.
• Ensure proper calibration and synchronization of payload systems with flight controllers.

Software Configuration:

• Configure and fine-tune flight control software (e.g., PX4, Ardupilot) for mission-specific needs.
• Develop or modify scripts for autonomous navigation and mission planning.
• Ensure proper implementation of communication protocols, such as MAVLink or CAN bus.

Documentation & Compliance:

• Maintain detailed documentation of integration processes, wiring schematics, and testing results.
• Ensure compliance with aviation regulations and industry standards for drone operations.
• Provide technical support and training to end-users or clients.

Qualifications:

• Bachelors or Masters degree in Aerospace Engineering, Mechatronics, Robotics, Electronics, or a related field.

Experience:

• 2+ years in UAV/drone integration or a related field.”
• Hands-on experience with integrating UAV components such as autopilots, sensors, and communication systems.

Technical Skills:

• Proficiency in drone platforms like PX4, Ardupilot.
• Solid understanding of communication protocols (e.g., MAVLink, CAN, I2C, UART).
• Experience with power management systems, wiring, and electronic hardware.
• Familiarity with testing tools for drones (e.g., RF analyzers, oscilloscopes, and telemetry systems).

Soft Skills:

• Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
• Excellent communication and teamwork abilities.
• Ability to work independently and manage multiple tasks efficiently.

Preferred Qualifications:

• Experience with integrating advanced payloads (e.g., multispectral or thermal cameras).
• Familiarity with swarm systems or multi-drone coordination.
• Understanding of regulatory frameworks like DGCA guidelines.
