Sr. Research Analyst- Software Tracker

Overview

IDC is seeking a Sr. Research Analyst to join its Software Tracker team. This role involves conducting in-depth research for IDCs Software Tracker, working collaboratively with internal analysts and engaging with external vendors as needed. The analyst will deliver regular, detailed analyses of software markets across diverse geographies.

Responsibilities

• Lead and mentor a team of 5 software tracker analysts based in the Bangalore office.
• Oversee the implementation of tracking methodologies and ensure alignment with organizational goals.
• Manage the end-to-end process of software tracking, ensuring accuracy, timeliness, and actionable insights.
• Leverage expert-level modeling skills to support data-driven decision-making and enhance the performance of the team.
• Facilitate team collaboration and ensure that project timelines and deliverables are met.
• Provide ongoing mentorship and professional development to team members, fostering a culture of continuous improvement..

Qualifications

• Masters degree (MBA, MSc in Statistics, Mathematics, or equivalent), with strong analytical and logical skills to interpret quantitative insights and estimate market sizes.
• Advanced proficiency in MS Excel, with the ability to leverage its capabilities for complex data analysis and modeling.
• Extensive experience in managing software tracker teams or similar functions, with at least 7 years in a leadership position.
• Proven expertise in data modeling and analytics, with the ability to apply these skills to real-world business problems.
• Strong leadership and mentorship abilities, with a track record of managing and developing high-performing teams.
• Excellent communication and organizational skills, with the ability to handle complex projects and meet tight deadlines.
