Job Title: IT Support Engineer.
Location: Pune
Job Type: Full-Time/On-Site.
Job Summary:
We are seeking an experienced and skilled IT Tech Support Specialist with expertise in Windows, Linux, networking protocols, network switches, compliance, and remote desktop support. The successful candidate will play a key role in supporting our IT infrastructure, ensuring the smooth operation of both systems and networks while adhering to security and compliance standards.
Key Responsibilities:
Technical Support & Troubleshooting:
u Provide first and second-level technical support for Windows and Linux systems/Servers.
u Troubleshoot hardware, software, and network issues, ensuring minimal downtime.
u Support end-users with technical issues related to both operating systems and networking on-site.
Windows & Linux Administration:
u Perform system administration tasks on Windows servers (Active Directory, Group Policies) and Linux environments.
u Install, configure, and maintain both Windows and Linux desktops and servers, ensuring they meet operational and security requirements.
u Handle system performance monitoring, patch management, backups, and disaster recovery procedures for both operating systems.
Networking & Protocols:
u Support and troubleshoot network infrastructure, including routers, switches, and firewalls.
u Assist in configuring and managing LAN/WAN, TCP/IP, DNS, DHCP, and VPNs.
u Monitor network performance, troubleshoot connectivity issues, and optimize network efficiency.
u Ensure network switches are correctly configured, including VLANs, port configurations, and link aggregation.
Cloud Technologies & Virtualization:
u Knowledged and support cloud-based infrastructure and services (AWS, Azure), ensuring security, scalability, and performance.
u Administer cloud-based virtual machines, storage, and networking resources.
u Provide support for cloud-based applications and services, including troubleshooting and performance.
Remote Desktop Support:
u Provide remote desktop support to internal employees or external clients, troubleshooting issues with remote access technologies such as RDP, SSH, VPN, etc.
u Assist remote users with access, security, and connectivity issues to corporate systems.
Security & Compliance:
u Ensure compliance with security standards, including encryption, password policies, and regular system audits.
u Assist in the implementation and monitoring of network security protocols such as firewalls, VPNs, and IPS/IDS systems.
u Collaborate with the security team to ensure systems and networks comply with internal policies and industry standards (e.g., PCI-DSS, GDPR, HIPAA).
u Implement security patches and updates in a timely manner and maintain system integrity.
Documentation & Reporting:
u Maintain accurate documentation of system configurations, network diagrams, incident reports, and troubleshooting procedures.
u Document and update processes, workflows, and compliance-related guidelines.
u IT asset inventory management.
User Support & Training:
u Provide timely and professional support to end-users across the organization, addressing issues with desktop environments, connectivity, software, and peripherals.
u Create user guides and provide training to users on system and network best practices, as well as compliance requirements.
u Manage and resolve user tickets in the help desk system, ensuring SLAs are met.
Required Skills & Qualifications:
u Education: Bachelors degree in Information Technology, Computer Science, or related field (or equivalent work experience)
Experience:
u 2+ years of hands-on experience in IT tech support, system administration, or network support.
u Strong experience with both Windows and Linux environments (administration, troubleshooting, configuration).
u In-depth knowledge of networking protocols (TCP/IP, DNS, DHCP, VPN, VLANs) and experience with network switches and firewalls.
u Experience working with remote desktop technologies and tools (e.g., RDP, VNC, SSH)
Technical Skills:
u Strong command of Windows and Linux server/desktop administration.
u Familiarity with Active Directory, Group Policies, Remote desktops, Wndows and Linux platforms.
u Experience with network devices (routers, switches, firewalls), particularly in configuring and troubleshooting them.
u Knowledge of network protocols and services, including DNS, DHCP, VLANs, VPNs, and firewalls.
u Understanding of cybersecurity best practices and compliance frameworks (e.g.,SOC, PCI-DSS, ISO, HIPAA).
u Experience with remote support tools (e.g., RDP, AWS, SSH, VPN) for troubleshooting and system access.
Soft Skills:
u Excellent troubleshooting and analytical skills to diagnose complex technical issues.
u Strong verbal and written communication skills, with the ability to explain technical concepts to non-technical users.
u Ability to multitask, prioritize, and manage time effectively in a fast-paced environment.
u Team-oriented with a strong commitment to customer service and satisfaction.
Preferred Qualifications:
u Good knowledged such as Network, Security, Linux, Cisco CCNA, or Microsoft productes and applications.
u Experience with cloud environments (e.g., AWS, Azure) and virtualized environments (e.g., VMware, Hyper-V).
u Familiarity with monitoring and management tools (e.g., Nagios, Zabbix) and ticketing systems.
