Role Overview

We are seeking a dedicated SQL Database Administrator (DBA) with 2 years of hands-on experience managing Oracle databases. In this role, you will be responsible for the administration, optimization, and maintenance of Oracle database environments. Your expertise will ensure database performance, availability, and security while supporting the organization's data-driven initiatives.

Key Responsibilities

• Install, configure, and manage Oracle database systems to ensure high availability and reliability.
  
• Monitor and optimize database performance, including query tuning, indexing strategies, and resource utilization.
  
• Implement and maintain database security measures, ensuring data integrity and compliance with organizational policies.
  
• Manage database backup and recovery processes, ensuring minimal downtime and robust disaster recovery.
  
• Perform Oracle database upgrades, migrations, patching, and version maintenance.
  
• Proactively troubleshoot and resolve database issues, including locking, contention, and performance bottlenecks.
  
• Automate database tasks using scripts and tools to streamline operations.
  
• Conduct capacity planning and scalability analysis to support growth and evolving business needs.
  
• Create and manage database objects such as tables, indexes, partitions, and materialized views.
  
• Collaborate with development teams to optimize SQL queries and support application workflows.
  
• Implement and maintain ETL (Extract, Transform, Load) processes as required.
  
• Maintain up-to-date documentation for database configurations, processes, and operational guidelines.
  
• Provide on-call support for critical database-related issues and maintain service-level agreements (SLAs).
  
• Conduct regular database audits and assessments to ensure compliance with best practices and regulatory standards.
  

Skills and Qualifications

• Bachelors degree in Information Technology, or a related field.
  
• Minimum of 2 years of experience as a SQL DBA, with a strong focus on Oracle databases.
  
• Proficiency in Oracle database technologies, including SQL, PL/SQL, and Oracle-specific features (e.g., triggers, packages, and partitions).
  
• Expertise in Oracle database tools such as SQL*Plus, Oracle SQL Developer, or TOAD.
  
• Strong understanding of database design, normalization, and data modeling principles.
  
• Proven experience in database performance tuning, optimization, and monitoring tools.
  
• In-depth knowledge of backup, recovery, and disaster recovery strategies in Oracle environments.
  
• Familiarity with database security concepts, including roles, privileges, and encryption.
  
• Experience with Oracle RAC, Data Guard, or other high-availability solutions is a plus.
  
• Knowledge of version control systems (e.g., Git) for database scripts and configurations.
  
• Strong problem-solving and analytical skills, with the ability to work effectively in high-pressure environments.
  
• Excellent communication and collaboration skills, with the ability to work effectively in cross-functional teams.
