Job Purpose:

The Industrial Engineer will focus on driving efficiency, scalability, and innovation in Spectrum Electrical Industries Limiteds manufacturing processes. With expertise in lean manufacturing, time studies, line balancing, layout design, and process optimization, this role will ensure that Spectrum remains a leader in delivering high-quality, cost-effective electrical components. The candidate will work on creating sustainable strategies to enhance productivity, reduce waste, and optimize resources for long-term operational excellence.

Key Responsibilities:

1. Lean Manufacturing Implementation:
• Develop and execute lean initiatives to eliminate waste, improve workflows, and enhance production efficiency.
• Conduct value stream mapping to identify and address inefficiencies across operations.
2. Time Study and Work Measurement:
• Conduct detailed time studies to analyze and establish standard times for manufacturing processes.
• Use the findings to optimize labor utilization and improve overall equipment efficiency (OEE).
3. Line Balancing:
• Analyze and optimize production lines to balance workloads and minimize bottlenecks.
• Ensure the alignment of production lines with takt time to meet customer demands effectively.
4. Facility Layout and Workflow Design:
• Design and optimize plant layouts for improved material flow, reduced handling, and space utilization.
• Integrate layout strategies with long-term capacity planning to support scalability.
5. Process Optimization:
• Evaluate current processes and implement strategies to enhance quality, reduce cycle times, and minimize costs.
• Introduce best practices and automation technologies to streamline operations.
6. Data-Driven Decision Making:
• Leverage data analytics tools to track KPIs, monitor trends, and drive continuous improvement initiatives.
• Provide actionable insights for informed decision-making on operational investments and enhancements.
7. Collaboration & Leadership:
• Work closely with cross-functional teams, including production, quality, and supply chain, to align goals.
• Lead training and workshops to instill a culture of continuous improvement and lean thinking.
8. Strategic Capacity Planning:
• Develop strategies to ensure optimal utilization of resources and investments in new capabilities.

• Reduction in cycle times and production costs.
• Improvement in line efficiency and balance metrics.
• Successful implementation of lean manufacturing projects.
• Space savings and improved workflow from optimized layouts.
• Achievement of set targets for waste reduction and resource utilization.

Qualifications and Skills Required:

• Bachelors or Masters degree in Industrial Engineering, Manufacturing Engineering, or a related field.
• 1 - 5 years of experience in lean manufacturing, time study, and process optimization.
• Strong expertise in industrial engineering tools like line balancing, MTM, and value stream mapping.
• Proficiency in using simulation and layout design software (e.g., AutoCAD, FlexSim).
• Excellent analytical, problem-solving, and project management skills.
• Ability to drive organizational change and foster continuous improvement.Role & responsibilities
