Costing Engineer

Role & responsibilities

Technical skill expertise:
1.Experience in Automotive industry with hands on experience in arriving activity based component cost with reference to BOM.

2.Electronic cost calculation in alignment with supplier & materials department.

3.Ability to understand Engineering drawings for Mechanical cost calculation for molded, forged, machined , blanking and surface treatment parts in alignment with supplier & materials department.

4.Development cost estimation, tooling cost and other investment cost estimation.

5.Process knowledge on Electro mechanical products with cost estimation, jigs , fixture cost estimation & EOL equipment along with process engineer.

6.Negotiation skills for costing with the supplier ( mechanical and Electronics) for quote and lead time.

7. Validation cost estimation based on DVP in line with discussion with validation team and project leader.

8.Assist with feasibility studies and strategize how to optimize the cost.

9.Anticipate potential risks on costing and develop preventative or alternate solutions. 10.Presentation skills regarding costing to management. Comparative cost study analysis.

11. VAVE ideas for profitability.

12. Knowledge on forex, imports, exports etc.

13. Conduct CFT meetings to arrive on common understanding on the Product cost sheet. 14.Adhere to PLM procedure.

15.Finalize the cost estimate. Maintain all files, data related to the project.

Bachelor of Engineering (B.E) - Mechatronics/Electronics/Mechanical.
