Job Description

Engineering Leadership - Establish the vision, strategy, and direction in line with the digital transformation delivery using Java based technologies. Adopt new software languages and paradigms, distributed programming models, and shape the wider application landscape to address client challenges. The candidate must have extensive experience using Java Based technologies and architectures. He is capable of guiding team in solution design and approving the final solution design presented prepared by Architects.
People Leadership - Coach and mentor managers and empower them to lead their own projects and a delivery unit includes 30-50 engineers . Create an engaging environment and build a sense of pride among employees. Set individual goals, performance, and growth for the direct reportees.
Operation Excellence Adhere with delivery processes and programs. Constantly assist the team in meeting its KPIs, for example, Quality, Scope, Budget, and Timeline, by implementing DevOps and Agile practices. Facilitate decision-making, issue resolution, and consensus among team members and peers. Accountable for delivery of software engineering and management tools, methodologies, standards, and leading practices to support efficiency and productivity.
Program Management - Maintain an overall view of the programs handled by the teams and manage project priorities. Audit and follow up on the overall plan, status, strategy, risks, and conflicts under the project management domain. Proactively perform deep dive for critical paths and major milestones. Ensure optimal allocation of resources (based on cost and knowledge) for projects according to need while ensuring flexibility. Step in hands-on with the team when the situation demands. Serve as the escalation point and trusted advisor for stakeholders and strive to create win-win situations.
Communication - Lead, encourage, and drive an open, transparent, and authentic environment. Effectively communicate the roadmap/direction of the unit and ensure that the goals and KPIs of the organization are understood. Constantly strive to share the big picture and vision of the unit. Encourage bottom-up communication channels to better understand the voice of the employees.
Critical Experiences
  1. Minimum 15 years experience and at least 5 years in leading engineering teams.
  2. Proven experience in software development methodologies, principles, procedures, software management, Project Management, Cloud, DevOps, Agile Practices, and support tools and services.
  3. Have worked with cross-functional teams, including analysts, engineers, testers, and designers.
  4. Manage the details of end-to-end implementation, keeping track of dependencies within a large design, and communicating the vision and ideas to both technical and non-technical audiences
  5. Basic or Intermediately knowledge of AI/ML and ability to learn it fairly quick.
  6. Knowledge in eCommerce domain is MUST
  7. Past experience in delivering E2E for eCommerce projects is a big plus.
  8. Knowledge on Oracle ATG or CommerceTools is a big plus.
Credentials
  1. Computer Science or equivalent degree - information technology, management information systems, software engineering, and networking.
  2. Expertise in systems integration, custom development, and package implementation
  3. Proven background as an engineering leader in delivering complex solution design, delivering large programs, and obtaining approval from enterprise architecture stakeholders
  4. Proven ability to lead a technical track of 30+ software engineers
  5. Excellent organizational, prioritization and time management skills
  6. Fluent knowledge of cloud-native technologies either in AWSA or Azure.
  7. Strong Analytical Skills and customer centric mindset.
