Job Purpose. To advise on mitigation of legal risks arising out of contracts, negotiate, draft, review and execute commercial contracts and provide support services to the business in connection with commercial contracts and for consumer litigations and other advisory related to advertising and consumer laws for LBRD, ABFRL IT, International Business, Fast Fashion, and Finesse (S&N) and Reebok. To lead a team of one or more persons at a junior level who will assist the Contracts CounselLBRD, ABFRL IT, International Business, Fast Fashion, and Finesse (S&N) and Reebok.
Job Context & Major Challenges. The organisation enters into a multitude of contracts with various types of vendors for various deliverables. Any breach of contracts by the other party can subject the organisation to reputation risk, financial liabilities and business disruption/inconveniences. Hence, to ensure risk management though robust contracts is a key function. The concerned role extends to pan India for entire LBRD, ABFRL IT, International Business, Fast Fashion, Finesse (S&N) and Reebok. The contracts vary in nature, size and complexity owing to diversity in business model and functions. Rendering timely contract management services with compromising on the mitigation of legal risks is the main challenge. Due to the rapid changing business models, the incumbent has to be updated on relevant laws to understand the legal challenges and accordingly draft/negotiate the contract. The number of contracts is large and hence there is a huge pressure on time. The incumbent is also required to provide legal advice on contracts before initiation to ensure alignment with legal requirements.
The consumer awareness and strong consumer laws require swift resolution of consumer matters. It is important for the incumbent to know the consumer laws and assist the business in closing the complaints is a speedy and timely manner and ensuring that a complaint is closed as per laws. The assistance includes drafting response to consumer complaints, advising on critical informal customer disputes, managing the consumer court cases, notice reply etc.
