Finance Manager / Chartered Accountant

Job Summary:

The role of Chartered Accountant has a wide range of responsibilities, but primarily works to contribute to the production of accurate financial information for internal and external users, as well as execute and oversee operational activities.

Responsibilities & Duties:

Accounting and Financial Reporting 50%

• Oversee operational activities, as assigned (e.g., bill payment, invoice generation, accounts receivable collections, etc.)
• Prepare and review journal entries.
• Oversee the timely and accurate preparation and review of monthly, quarterly, and annual financial statements and reports
• Coordinate and manage the external audit process, including the preparation of audit schedules and liaising with auditors.
• Work closely with payroll team to ensure timely payroll and reconciliation

Tax Compliance - 30%

• Monthly preparation and filing of all tax compliances, including withholding tax, TDS, GST and other local tax requirements
• Computation of income tax
• Annual computation of income tax and liaise with external tax accountant
• Liaise with tax authorities for assessments, audits, and queries

Internal control, improvement and collaboration - 20%

• Identify and implement process improvements to increase efficiency and effectiveness in financial reporting.
• Stay abreast of industry best practices and incorporate them into the companys financial reporting processes.
• Work closely with other finance team members, including those in accounting, treasury, and tax, to ensure accurate and timely financial reporting.
• Support the budgeting and forecasting process by providing relevant financial data and analysis.

Management Responsibilities

Could include supervision of Accounting Specialist

Education, Experience, and Certification

• Education - Bachelors degree in Accounting
• Qualified Chartered Accountant (CA)
• 7+ years of post-qualification experience

Knowledge, Skills, Abilities and Other Characteristics

• Strong knowledge of accounting, taxation and financial regulations
• Proficiency in accounting software such as Tally, ERP system and Microsoft suites
• Strong analytical, problem solving and decision making abilities
• Excellent leadership, good communication and interpersonal skills
• High attention to detail and a commitment to accuracy, including meeting deadlines and balancing competing priorities.
