Advanced Hardware Engineer - Electrical (Bangalore, India)

We are developing a Battery Energy Storage System, this involves a high level of multidisciplinary engineering coming together and integrating a product based on the cell chemistry, its thermal management, choice of the hardware for controls, integrate through firmware and software layers and ultimately manage the flow of electrical energy through high voltage systems. The role involves a 360-degree system architecture lookout, defining the interfaces between Battery, Mechanical, Electrical, Controls and Safety systems. The individual is expected to be ready to explore, guide and drive solutioning of the challenges involved in such an integration.

The ideal candidate has track-record of successfully delivering on Electrical Designs, creating drawings, Reviewing the drawing. Should have Knowledge on VE/CE concepts and BoM scrubbing. Exceptional communication skills will help you working with various cross functional team members with Mechanical, System, Software domains .

Position Overview:
We are seeking a highly skilled Advanced Hardware Engineer - Electrical to join our BESS technology team in Bangalore, India. As an Advanced Hardware Engineer, you will be accountable for designing the auxiliary power distribution system in the BESS enclosure, designing protection schemes for the AC distribution system, and preparing Single Line Diagrams (SLDs), panel design, cable sizing, bus bar sizing, selection and sizing of UPS systems, and other related tasks. The ideal candidate should possess knowledge of electrical design standards such as NFPA 70E, NEC, or IEC equivalent. Proficiency in creating cable schedules, component selection, Bill of Materials (BoM) generation, and panel design is essential. Experience in protection coordination, FAT, and commissioning of the above systems is required. Familiarity with BESS technology and experience with design tools like EPLAN and are highly preferred.

Responsibilities:
1. Design and develop the auxiliary power distribution system in the BESS enclosure.
2. Design protection schemes for the AC distribution system.
3. Prepare Single Line Diagrams (SLDs), panel design, cable sizing, bus bar sizing, selection and sizing of UPS systems, and other related tasks.
4. Ensure compliance with electrical design standards such as NFPA 70E, NEC, or IEC equivalent.
5. Create cable schedules, select components, and generate Bill of Materials (BoM) for electrical designs.
6. Work with cross-functional teams to ensure seamless integration of electrical components.
7. Stay updated with the latest industry trends and advancements in BESS technology to drive innovation and improvement in design processes.
8. Utilize design tools like EPLAN for drawing creation and BoM generation.
9. Coordinate protection schemes for the AC distribution system to ensure proper functioning and safety.
10. Conduct Factory Acceptance Testing (FAT) and participate in the commissioning of the above systems.

Qualifications:
1. Bachelor s degree in electrical engineering or a related field. Masters degree preferred.
2. Minimum of 8-15 years of relevant experience in electrical design.

3. Demonstrated experience in the full life cycle of electrical system design from initial concept, through hands-on implementation.
4. Strong knowledge and insight of electrical design standards such as NFPA 70E, NEC, or IEC equivalent.
5. Proficiency in design tools like EPLAN for drawing creation and BoM generation.
6. Experience in designing protection schemes for AC distribution systems.
7. Familiarity with Battery Energy Storage Systems (BESS) technology is preferred.
8. Experience in Factory Acceptance Testing (FAT) and commissioning of electrical systems.
9. Excellent problem-solving and thoughtful skills.
10. Strong communication and collaboration skills.
11. Detail-oriented with a strong focus on quality and accuracy.
12. Ability to work effectively in a team environment and meet project deadlines.
13. Familiarity with relevant industry standards and regulations.
