Following the successful launch of multiple smartphones in India, HMD Global is looking to expand its team by hiring a dynamic Product Manager.
As we continue to build our product capabilities, we have an exciting opportunity for a Product Manager for our mobile handsets, you will be responsible for the end-to-end lifecycle of our product offerings, from ideation to launch and beyond. You will work closely with cross-functional teams, including engineering, design, marketing, and sales, to ensure the successful delivery of products that meet market needs, exceed customer expectations, and drive business growth. You will be the voice of the customer, guiding the product vision and strategy to ensure alignment with business goals and industry trends.
Key Responsibilities:
- Product Strategy & Roadmap: Develop and execute a product strategy that aligns with market trends, business objectives, and customer needs. Create and maintain a product roadmap that supports short- and long-term goals.
- Market Research: Conduct in-depth market analysis, including competitive benchmarking, customer feedback, and industry trends, to inform product decisions and innovations.
- Product Development: Collaborate with cross-functional teams (engineering, design, QA, and manufacturing) to define product requirements, features, and specifications. Ensure timely delivery of high-quality products.
- Product Lifecycle Management: Oversee the entire product lifecycle, from concept through development, launch, and post-launch. Manage product iterations, enhancements, and product obsolescence.
- Customer Focus: Gather insights from customer feedback, surveys, and usage data to drive improvements and new product features that enhance user experience.
- Cross-Functional Collaboration: Work closely with marketing, sales, and customer support teams to ensure successful product launches, positioning, and ongoing customer satisfaction.
- Forging Partnerships: Leveraging technical partnerships to enhance the overall product value proposition and creating the opportunities for monetization for the organization.
- KPIs & Metrics: Define key performance indicators (KPIs) to measure product success, track performance, and make data-driven decisions to improve product outcomes.
- Budget & Resource Management: Manage product budgets and ensure resources are allocated efficiently to meet product deadlines and goals.
Qualifications:
- Education: Bachelor's degree in engineering, Computer Science, or a related field (MBA preferred).
- Experience: 5 - 10 years of experience in product management, preferably within the mobile handset industry.
- Product Knowledge: Strong understanding of the mobile handset market, including hardware and software components and mobile ecosystems.
- Technical Acumen: Ability to collaborate with engineering teams to understand technical feasibility, product architecture, and potential trade-offs.
- Analytical Skills: Strong data analysis and problem-solving skills to assess product performance and make informed decisions.
- Communication: Excellent verbal and written communication skills, with the ability to present complex ideas clearly to senior management, engineering, and marketing teams.
- Passion for Innovation: A deep interest in mobile technology and a desire to shape the future of mobile devices.
