Human Resource Business Partner, South Asia
Responsibilities:
- Ensure HR policies and procedures follow both company and local legal requirements.
- Oversee all HR activities, including employee management, resourcing, onboarding, payroll, and manpower planning.
- Maintain accurate employee records and ensure these are updated to Group HR.
- Deliver HR services efficiently, working closely with management to meet HR objectives.
- Ensure payroll is processed accurately and on time, without delays or errors.
- Handle labor compliance filings and ensure all HR activities are audit-ready.
- Manage and develop relationships with external vendors, including manpower vendors, to ensure local regulations are met.
- Lead key HR processes, such as performance management, learning initiatives, employee engagement, and communication.
- Provide advice on compensation, benefits, and employee welfare to improve employee satisfaction.
- Work with leadership to foster a performance-driven, engaging work culture.
- Contribute to HR strategies for the growth of the India franchise, including recruitment and talent management.
- Be a key player in developing talent, succession planning, retention strategies, and addressing underperformance.
- Oversee country HR activities such as performance reviews, leave planning, and learning & development.
- Lead key HR projects and ensure alignment with regulatory compliance, especially regarding employee benefits, payroll, and statutory requirements.
- Act as a POSH Committee member to ensure a safe and healthy workplace.
- Provide support for conflict resolution and employee counseling as needed.
Additional Key Responsibilities:
- Ensure the timely processing of employee benefits, in addition to payroll.
- Stay updated with changes in labor laws, including the Code on Wages, Gratuity Act, and Maternity Benefit Act.
- Work in close collaboration with external consultants and staffing firms to support HR initiatives.
Key Skills & Qualifications:
- Master's degree in Human Resources or a related field.
- 10-15 years of experience in HR, with at least 8 years in HR operations.
- Strong expertise in payroll processing and statutory compliance.
- Experience in banking or financial services is a plus.
- Knowledge of RBI regulations and local labor laws.
- Ability to generate HR reports and use MI for decision-making.
- Strong leadership skills with experience in managing a team.
- Excellent problem-solving skills and the ability to work under tight deadlines.
- High level of integrity and ability to handle confidential information.
