We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Senior Web Developer to take ownership of
building and maintaining a dynamic, SEO-optimized WordPress website. This is a critical role
where you will have sole responsibility for developing the website from the ground up,
ensuring seamless performance and integration with various tools and APIs. The role requires
technical expertise, adaptability, and the ability to collaborate with internal teams to align the
site with business and branding objectives.
Key Responsibilities:
1. Website Development & Maintenance:
o Build and maintain a responsive, scalable, and dynamic WordPress website
using themes adapted to our brand guidelines.
o Develop and customize plugins as needed to enhance functionality.
o Ensure compatibility across devices, browsers, and operating systems.
2. Design and UX/UI Implementation:
o Adapt website designs to reflect brand colors and guidelines while ensuring
optimal user experience (UX) and interface design (UI).
o Use existing WordPress themes effectively without a dedicated UI/UX team.
o Incorporate multimedia elements (graphics, video, and audio) to enhance
engagement.
3. SEO and Performance Optimization:
o Deep understanding of on-page SEO techniques to ensure search engine
ranking and discoverability.
o Optimize site speed and performance using tools like caching, minification, and
efficient coding techniques.
o Stay updated with SEO best practices and implement them consistently.
4. Collaboration & Communication:
o Coordinate with internal teams (Marketing, Technology, and Product) to gather
requirements and ensure the website aligns with business objectives.
o Respond promptly to ongoing requests for updates and maintenance, including
from a marketing and technology perspective.
5. Technical Documentation & Reporting:
o Create and maintain detailed documentation for all processes and
functionalities.
6. Proactively monitor website performance, reporting any issues and implementing
solutions.
Desirable Skills
7. API and Integration Management:
o Proficiency in API integration, particularly with Moodle (Learning Management
System), Google Tag Manager, and other essential tools. Optimize for advanced tracking, analytics, and reporting to support business
goals.
o Work closely with internal systems to integrate CRM or in-house LMS solutions
seamlessly.
Required Technical Skills:
• Proficiency in core web technologies: HTML, HTML5, CSS, CSS3, JavaScript, and
jQuery.
• Extensive experience in WordPress development, including theme customization
and plugin development.
• Knowledge of PHP, MySQL, and related backend development technologies.
• Expertise in integrating third-party APIs (e.g., Moodle, Google Tag Manager) and e
commerce tools.
• Familiarity with web development frameworks and tools.
• Experience with AI tools for workflow optimization and content generation.
• Strong understanding of UI/UX principles and ability to adapt themes effectively.
• Hands-on knowledge of web hosting, DNS management, and performance
optimization.
Preferred Skills & Qualifications:
• Good knowledge of SEO best practices and accessibility standards.
• Experience with designing secure websites with attention to data protection standards.
• Hands-on experience with analytics tools like Google Analytics.
• Certification in web development or programming languages is a plus.
Education & Experience:
• Bachelor's or master's degree in computer science, Web Development, or related field
(or equivalent practical experience).
• 3 - 5 years of hands-on web development experience, with proven individual
contributions to at least one large-scale project.
• Demonstrable portfolio of WordPress websites with e-commerce and API integration
functionality.
