Maintenance Manager/Deputy Manager

Role & responsibilities

Key Responsibilities:

• Team Leadership: Manage and mentor a team of maintenance technicians, assigning tasks, scheduling shifts, and conducting performance evaluations.
• Maintenance Planning: Develop and implement a preventive maintenance program to reduce equipment downtime and extend asset life.
• Technical Oversight: Oversee all maintenance activities, including repairs, installations, and inspections of machinery, equipment, and facilities.
• Budget Management: Prepare, manage, and optimize the maintenance budget; control expenses and procure maintenance supplies and tools.
• Safety Compliance: Ensure compliance with health, safety, and environmental regulations; conduct safety audits and training for the maintenance team.
• Troubleshooting: Lead diagnostics and troubleshooting of equipment failures; analyze root causes to develop long-term solutions.
• Collaborative Communication: Collaborate with other departments to coordinate maintenance schedules and minimize impact on production and operations.
• Inventory Management: Manage and maintain inventory of maintenance supplies and spare parts; ensure availability of essential equipment.
• Reporting: Maintain thorough records of maintenance activities, repair logs, and compliance inspections; prepare reports for upper management regarding maintenance performance and projects.
• Continuous Improvement: Identify opportunities for process improvements and implement standards for maintenance best practices.

Qualifications:

• Bachelors degree in Mechanical Engineering or a related field; a Masters degree is preferred.
• Professional Engineering (PE) license is a plus.
• 7+ years of experience in mechanical engineering, with a minimum of 2 years in a managerial or leadership role.
• Proven experience in project management, including the ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously.
• Strong knowledge of mechanical design principles, materials science, and manufacturing processes.
• Proficiency in CAD software and other engineering simulation tools.
• Excellent communication, leadership, and interpersonal skills.
