Providing expertise in technical analysis on Mainframe technology
Develop, test, and debug mainframe applications using COBOL, JCL, and SQL
Resolves simple to medium complex problems spanning across multiple applications to deliver value; participates in planning and estimation and advises other junior engineers; executes with limited guidance.
Uses current architectural standards and guidelines to drive efficiency when working on the design efforts of complex business and enterprise data or platform solutions.
Ensures good unit testing coverage accounting for all boundary conditions and comes up with the system integration test plan and testing framework for data engineers to leverage and implement both unit testing and functional testing and support user acceptance testing.
Works within the domain to define and design a data solution to meet business needs and product objectives and key results, service level agreements, data quality, and observability.
Analyzes and organizes data to evaluate the usefulness and relevance of data required for insights requested by the business.
Designs and leads the development, maintenance, and enhancements of operational, analytical (including self-serve) applications across various business domains; helps create frameworks and reusable components.
Required Qualifications:
6+ years of experience in Mainframe technology including expertise in JCL, COBOL
2 years of experience in ESP Mainframe scheduler
5 years of experience in data, data warehousing/ETL
4 years of experience working on project(s) involving the implementation of solutions applying development life cycles (SDLC)
3 years of experience in object-oriented programming/structure programming, SQL, and scripting
3 years of experience in big data technology
3 years of experience in cloud-based big data technologies
Bachelor's degree in engineering, computer science, computer information systems (CIS), or related field (or equivalent work experience in lieu of degree)
