Job Summary: As an Electrical Engineer with 4 years of experience in the construction sector, you will be responsible for overseeing the electrical installations, commissioning, and maintenance of systems in construction projects related to Oil and Gas, Power Plants, Refineries, and other critical infrastructure. You will be instrumental in ensuring electrical systems comply with industry standards, safety regulations, and project timelines while maintaining operational efficiency. Key Responsibilities: 1.Design & Engineering: oReview and understand electrical designs, blueprints, and technical specifications related to construction projects. oAssist in the preparation and review of electrical system designs, ensuring compliance with safety standards, national regulations, and environmental laws. oWork closely with the design team to ensure all electrical requirements are integrated with other systems (HVAC, SCADA, etc.).
2.Project Execution: oCoordinate and supervise electrical installation work at the construction site, ensuring that it meets technical requirements and timelines. oEnsure the safe and proper installation of power distribution systems, lighting, control systems, transformers, motors, and other electrical components. oEnsure the installation of electrical systems follows project schedules, quality standards, and safety protocols. oResolve any issues related to electrical installation on-site.
3.Inspection & Quality Control: oConduct regular inspections of electrical works and installations to ensure compliance with project specifications and standards. oPerform quality checks and tests for installed electrical equipment and systems, ensuring they meet operational and safety requirements. oTroubleshoot electrical issues during construction and propose corrective actions to prevent delays.
4.Commissioning & Testing: oOversee the testing and commissioning of electrical equipment, ensuring systems are fully operational before final handover. oPerform operational tests of power systems, electrical circuits, and related equipment to validate system performance.
5.Safety Compliance: oEnsure that electrical installations adhere to safety guidelines and industry best practices. oParticipate in safety audits and risk assessments. oEnforce safety practices to minimize electrical hazards, such as shock or fire risk.
6.Coordination & Documentation: oCoordinate with other engineering departments (Mechanical, Civil, Instrumentation) to ensure all electrical systems are integrated seamlessly. oMaintain detailed records of electrical designs, installation activities, tests, and commissioning. oPrepare and update project reports, including progress, deviations, and challenges. oAssist in managing procurement of electrical components and materials in coordination with procurement teams.
7.Maintenance & Troubleshooting: oProvide technical support during the construction phase for troubleshooting electrical system faults and ensuring repairs are conducted effectively. oEnsure proper documentation and preventive maintenance schedules for all electrical systems installed during the project lifecycle.
8.Team Management: oSupervise and train junior engineers and technicians to enhance team performance and project efficiency. oProvide mentorship and guidance to ensure safe and effective electrical practices are followed on-site. 9.Collaboration with Clients & Contractors: oCommunicate effectively with clients, vendors, and contractors to ensure alignment on project timelines, specifications, and deliverables. oAssist in project meetings, providing technical expertise and project updates. Skills and Qualifications: Educational Qualification: Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering (B.Tech/B.E.) from a recognized institution. Experience: Minimum 4 years of hands-on experience in the construction industry, particularly in large-scale industrial projects such as refineries, power plants, or oil & gas facilities. Certifications: Relevant certifications in Electrical Safety, Project Management (PMP, PRINCE2), or other industry-specific qualifications would be a plus. Technical Skills: oStrong knowledge of electrical design, installations, and commissioning. oProficiency in electrical engineering software and tools (AutoCAD, ETAP, etc.). oKnowledge of industrial electrical codes and standards (IS, IEC, NEC, etc.). oFamiliarity with power distribution, substations, transformers, motors, control systems, etc. Soft Skills: oExcellent problem-solving skills and attention to detail. oStrong communication and coordination skills. oAbility to work under pressure and meet deadlines. oStrong team collaboration abilities and leadership potential. Working Conditions: On-site role with frequent visits to project locations. Ability to work in varying weather conditions and challenging site environments.
