Java Developer with AWS

Role & responsibilities

• Build and extend backend applications in a cloud (AWS) environment.
• Ensure that customer facing applications are designed to be highly available, observable, and durable via software engineering best practices.
• Work with Product and Project Owners to understand end-user requirements, formulate user stories and then translate those into pragmatic and effective technical solutions.
• Work closely with onsite and remote frontend, backend and operations engineers to ensure deliverables are well-documented, secure and resilient.
• Help engineering management prioritize technical roadmap and to identify gaps in process and planning.
• Help to establish and document development best practices and ensure that these practices are adhered to.

Preferred candidate profile

• Minimum 5 years of real-world experience developing, deploying, scaling, and maintaining AWS cloud based Microservices and APIs.
• Must have development experience on Java/j2ee, Spring Framework Spring boot and Kafka
• Experience with building and maintaining AWS based integration using S3, API gateway, Lambda, EC2, EKS and SQL/No-SQL.
• Productive in Java/J2EE development environments. Qualified candidates have real-world experience in the development life-cycles of complex E-commerce applications
• Experience with unit testing frameworks.
• Strong software development fundamentals including automated testing, source control (Gitlab), continuous integration in addition to continuous delivery and/or deployment. Experience integrating web frontends with complex multi-tier applications.
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills and a strong willingness to learn and teach. A passion for solving problems and desire to understand how things work.
• Ability to help troubleshoot and resolve production system issues.
• Ability to author well designed, testable, efficient code.
