A Mechanical Engineer does the following in Sales and Marketing:
Understands the technical requirements of the customer and act as a link between his company and customer. Assimilates technical aspects of the companys product, prepares presentation according to the customer and delivers it. Analyses how his product is better than that of the competitor's. Deals with the post delivery issues of the customer like installing equipment, modifying the delivered product and providing regular service. Managing spare parts and inventory by applying various Industrial Engineering techniques. Pitches new ideas to customer to reduce the cost, wastage etc. Since all the above things involve a lot of technical stuff, a Mechanical Engineer is required.
