We are seeking a skilled and experienced Senior Data QA Engineer to ensure the accuracy, quality, and performance of complex data pipelines, ETL workflows, and analytics platforms. In this role, you will play a key part in testing and validating data engineering solutions while designing robust testing frameworks for scalable and reliable data systems.

The ideal candidate will bring strong technical expertise, attention to detail, and a proactive approach to identifying and solving data issues while collaborating closely with cross-functional teams to deliver high-quality solutions.

Key Responsibilities:

Test Strategy and Planning

• Design comprehensive testing strategies for data projects, including data pipelines, ETL workflows, and analytics platforms.
• Define testing objectives, scope, and deliverables in alignment with project requirements and quality benchmarks.

Test Execution

• Perform end-to-end testing for data pipelines, focusing on data quality, schema validation, and transformation accuracy.
• Execute large-scale data validation, volume testing, performance testing, and integration testing across environments.
• Validate data consistency across Dev, QA, and Prod environments to ensure a seamless user experience.

Automation

• Develop and implement test automation frameworks for data validation using tools like PyTest, Selenium, or custom scripts.
• Automate data validation and testing workflows for faster and more accurate test cycles.

Collaboration

• Work closely with Data Engineers, Developers, and Business Analysts to identify and resolve defects early in the development lifecycle.
• Act as a quality advocate, ensuring the delivery of reliable and accurate data solutions.

Reporting and Analysis

• Create detailed test plans, defect reports, and summary reports to communicate test results and resolutions.
• Use tools like JIRA to track and prioritize issues for timely closure.

Continuous Improvement

• Drive improvements in QA processes, frameworks, and tools, incorporating best practices in data testing.
• Mentor junior team members to build a culture of quality and excellence.
  

Required Skills & Qualifications:

Technical Expertise

• Strong experience with testing ETL workflows, data pipelines, and data validation in distributed systems.
• Proficiency in SQL for data extraction, testing, and debugging.
• Hands-on experience with big data technologies like Hadoop, Spark, AWS Glue, or Hudi.
• Familiarity with testing cloud-based systems (AWS, Azure, or GCP).

Automation

• Expertise in test automation tools like PyTest or Selenium for data workflows.
• Experience building automated data validation frameworks and pipelines.

Analytical Skills

• Proven ability to analyze complex datasets, identify anomalies, and provide root-cause analysis.

Tools and Frameworks

• Proficiency in tools like JIRA, Jenkins, GitHub, and CI/CD pipelines.
• Familiarity with data visualization tools like Power BI or Tableau is a plus.

Soft Skills

• Strong communication and collaboration skills with the ability to present findings effectively.
• A proactive approach to problem-solving and attention to detail.

Education & Experience

• Bachelors degree in Computer Science, Data Science, or a related field.
• Minimum 6+ years of experience in data QA roles, with at least 3 years focused on testing data engineering projects.
