Procurement Analyst

Job Summary

• Responsible for sourcing and managing suppliers/vendors for the FLAG Telecom global network.
• Building and maintaining strong supply chain relationships.
• Scope includes procurement lead on ~$30m per annum CAPEX and ~$50m per annum Network OPEX
• Key vendors include Ciena, Infinera, Cisco & Juniper.
• End to end Purchase to Pay process for all CAPEX projects including term sheet approvals.
• Negotiate key commercial terms including price, delivery, payment, and warranty.
• Post warranty support and maintenance contracts for hardware and software.
• Close collaboration with Network Engineering and Operations teams throughout GCX.
• Key interaction with other functions including Technical Pre-sales, Service Delivery, Products, Tax, Accounts Payable and Legal.

Duties & Responsibilities

• Onboard new suppliers and negotiate favorable supply contracts/ agreements on a global, regional and local basis as needed.
• Stay up to date with market trends, competitor landscape and evolution of FLAG network products and services.
• Obtain Bill of Materials (BOM) / Scope from the Engineering /Operations/ and other GCX teams and ensure clarity/alignment on specification and need.
• Obtain techno/commercial proposal from multiple vendors where possible to meet the requirement.
• Obtain timely management approvals and PO issuance to vendors within the approved budget.
• Preparation of various trackers/reports including Savings/Benefits tracker, AMC tracker, PO tracker, Contracts Tracker and shipment tracker.
• Secure valid written quotes from various vendors and negotiate with shortlist to secure advantageous terms.
• PO validation & issuance to vendors.
• Timely AMC contract renewals.
• Expediting the delivery and tracking of shipments if necessary.
• Co-ordinate with Logistics team in Dubai and other user teams including Tax for smooth custom clearances, product delivery at site and ability to recover local taxes.
• Co-ordination with AP team for timely payment to suppliers.
• Vendor management including dispute resolution and prompt management of escalations.
• Identify unfavourable events through analysis of data and prepare control strategies.
• Proactively keep stakeholders up to date on the progress of procurement activities.
• Provide regular reporting as required.
