Senior Resident

Clinical Training: Senior residents are primarily involved in clinical practice. They work in hospitals, clinics, and other healthcare settings, where they provide medical care to infants, children, and adolescents.Patient Care: They diagnose and treat a wide range of pediatric conditions, including common childhood illnesses, developmental concerns, and chronic medical conditions. They also provide preventive care, such as immunizations and well-child check-ups.Inpatient Care: Senior residents often manage the care of pediatric patients who require hospitalization. This includes conducting rounds, ordering and interpreting diagnostic tests, and developing treatment plans.Outpatient Care: They also see patients in outpatient clinics, where they provide follow-up care, address parental concerns, and offer guidance on child development and nutrition.Emergency Care: Senior residents may be involved in pediatric emergency medicine, treating children who present with acute illnesses or injuries in the emergency department.Procedures: They gain experience in performing common pediatric procedures such as venipuncture, lumbar punctures, and wound care. Some may also have exposure to pediatric subspecialties, such as pediatric surgery or pediatric cardiology, depending on their program.
