Key skills for the job
1.To supervise the working of mess incharges of different hostels.
2.To help the members of the mess committees to plan daily menu for their respective messes.
3.To ensure that all the meals cooked should be hygienic and served to the students at the scheduled times.
4.To check mess bills and inform the respective wardens and the chief warden regarding unusual hikes/aberrations in mess bills, if any.
5.To ensure that the mess incharges are properly maintaining the account registers and stores.
6.To suggest the relevant authority about the purchase of equipment and utensils for the mess, as and when required.
7.To check and supervise maintenance and cleanliness of the mess such as light, fan, utensils, dining halls, R.O. systems, painting, polishing, cleaning of kitchen, toilets etc.
8.To check the attendance register of mess workers provided by contractors on regular basis.
9.To ensure timely supply and quality of raw materials.
10.To regularly meet the Mess Incharges, Wardens, Chief Warden and Student Committees to resolve students complaints/grievances/suggestions regarding the conduct of mess activities.
11.To maintain the minutes of the Mess Management Committee.
12.To assign and distribute work to the Assistant Mess Managers and Hostel Incharges.
13.To apprise and provide training to the workers/employees of Hostel and Mess as and when required.
14.To perform additional duties assigned by the University administration at the time of campus recruitment, guest lecture etc., as the case may be.
15.To prevent wastage/spoilage of food items.
16.To delegate your work to Mess Incharges before proceeding on leave.
17.To prevent wastage of water and electricity in every possible way.
