The Candidate is expected to take up lead position in R & D of solid-state materials. Academic qualification: M.Sc. PhD. (Material Science/ Solid state Physics/Chemistry). Professional Qualification: Experience with Spectroscopic and Analytical Instruments.
Work Experience: 15 years in solid state physics or material science or instrumentation; with at least 5 years of leading a team.
GII deals with R & D in Diamond Spectroscopy, Gemmological studies of precious colourstones, development of Gem testing methods that are essentially non-destructive.
Development and fabrication of equipment useful for testing of diamonds and gems.
Methods for mapping and ascertaining impurities & colour centers by spectroscopic methods.
Experience in handling of UV-VIS-NIR, FT-IR, Confocal Raman Spectrometer, XRF, LIBS and photoluminescence instruments is desired.
Needs to participate in planning R & D.
Experience in management is preferred
