Job Description

Position Overview:

The Visa Officer will facilitate the visa process, ensuring a seamless and connected experience for applicants across both admissions and visa services. This role involves managing day-to-day visa administration, including assisting with the creation and issuance of short-term study visa letters, and monitoring attendance in line with GEDU Global Education policies.

The Visa Officer will ensure compliance with immigration regulations and provide efficient support throughout the admissions and visa process for international students.


Key Responsibilities:

  • Approximately 3-6 years of experience in processing visa applications, specifically for Dubai, the UK, or Europe, with a focus on Malta preferred.
  • Strong knowledge of immigration regulations, visa processing procedures and student visa requirements.
  • Proven ability to manage the visa application process effectively and ensure compliance with relevant immigration laws and institutional policies.
  • Visa Administration: Handle the day-to-day administration of visa compliance, including assisting with the creation and issuance of short-term study visa letters, ensuring that all necessary documentation is completed accurately.
  • Visa Application Management: Process visa applications promptly and efficiently, ensuring compliance with relevant immigration regulations and GEDU policies. Maintain accurate records of applicants and visa statuses.
  • Research & Policy Development: Conduct research on current immigration regulations and visa policies for various regions, with a focus on Dubai, the UK, Europe, and Malta. Develop and implement policies and procedures related to visa processing.
  • Customer Support: Respond to inquiries from applicants, providing clear and helpful guidance throughout the visa application process. Address any concerns or challenges applicants may face.
  • Collaboration: Work closely with other departments (e.g., admissions, academic services) to ensure a seamless and integrated approach to student admissions and visa services.
  • Monitoring & Reporting: Monitor attendance and other requirements in line with GEDU Global Education policies. Provide regular updates and reports on the status of visa applications, ensuring transparency and effective communication.
  • Training & Guidance: Provide guidance and training to colleagues and other stakeholders on visa-related matters, helping improve understanding of procedures and best practices.
  • Policy Improvement: Identify areas of improvement within the visa application process and propose changes to streamline and enhance the service for applicants.
  • Compliance & Knowledge Updates: Maintain up-to-date knowledge of immigration regulations, policies, and procedural changes to ensure full compliance with relevant laws.

Qualifications & Training:

  • Degree, relevant professional qualification, or equivalent experience in a related field.

Skills & Attributes:

  • Attention to Detail: High level of accuracy and attention to detail, particularly when processing sensitive documents.
  • Communication: Excellent written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to provide clear, professional, and effective guidance to applicants and colleagues.
  • Customer Service: Strong interpersonal skills and a commitment to providing exceptional customer service.
  • Time Management: Ability to work under pressure and meet deadlines while maintaining quality and efficiency.
  • Teamwork: Collaborative approach with the ability to work independently and as part of a cross-functional team.
  • Technical Proficiency: Proficiency in Microsoft Office and visa application management systems.
  • Language Skills: Fluency in English is essential. Additional language skills are an advantage.
