Job Summary

The Store Manager is responsible for overseeing daily store operations, ensuring adherence to Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs), minimizing dump and shrink, and driving sales growth. The role requires strong leadership, inventory control, and customer service skills to enhance operational efficiency and profitability.

Key Responsibilities

1. Standard Operating Procedures (SOP) Compliance

• Implement and ensure strict adherence to all company SOPs.
• Conduct daily/weekly audits to monitor operational efficiency and compliance.
• Train and supervise staff to follow best practices in customer service, billing, inventory management, and store maintenance.
• Maintain store hygiene, FIFO (First In, First Out) standards, and merchandising guidelines.
• Ensure accurate cash handling, reconciliation, and compliance with financial controls.

2. Dump and Shrink Control

• Monitor and reduce product wastage (dump) by ensuring proper inventory rotation and storage.
• Identify and implement measures to minimize stock shrinkage due to pilferage, theft, and mishandling.
• Conduct regular stock audits, investigate variances, and take corrective actions.
• Train staff on best practices to manage perishables and reduce losses.
• Work closely with the purchasing and warehouse teams to optimize stock levels.

3. Sales & Business Growth

• Achieve and exceed sales targets through effective team management and customer engagement.
• Analyze sales data and implement strategies to improve category-wise performance.
• Ensure high levels of customer satisfaction by maintaining service standards and handling escalations.
• Plan and execute promotions, in-store activations, and cross-selling initiatives.
• Monitor competitor activities and suggest strategies to enhance store performance.

4. Team Management & Leadership

• Lead, motivate, and develop a high-performing store team.
• Assign responsibilities and set clear performance expectations.
• Conduct regular team meetings to review store performance and address challenges.
• Manage staff scheduling, attendance, and conflict resolution effectively.

5. Reporting & Documentation

• Maintain accurate records of sales, inventory, shrinkage, and operational expenses.
• Prepare and submit daily, weekly, and monthly reports to management.
• Ensure timely stock replenishment and liaise with the supply chain team for order fulfillment.

Qualifications & Experience

• Bachelor's degree in Business Administration, Retail Management, or a related field (preferred).
• 3-5 years of experience in retail/store management, preferably in a supermarket or FMCG environment.
• Strong knowledge of inventory control, SOPs, and loss prevention techniques.
• Proven leadership, communication, and problem-solving skills.
• Proficiency in MS Office and POS systems.
