Job Description
Job Responsibilities:-
To provide specialist advice on the interactions of different medicines, food, etc. and how these might affect cancer patients with comorbidities taking chemotherapy.
Reporting, analyzing and doing root cause analysis of Adverse Drug Reactions
(ADRs), and other related aspects of the ADR.
Providing guidance about the safe prescribing of medicines and offer medicines
Ensuring the cost-effectiveness of treatments and make recommendations on
medicine usage by working closely with other departments.
To optimize drug prescribing and prevent medication errors by checking and
implementing recent changes in the drug information in the literature.
To do the regular prescription audits and guide the audit team members.
Periodically audit and update the hospital drug formulary and submit a report to
Hospital Drugs and Therapeutics Committee (HDTC).
Arrange and conduct the regular HDTC and other Sub-Committee (e.g., AMSP)
Coordinate with nurses and pharmacists and guide them on proper use, storage,
Monitor the antibiotic consumption and coordinate with infection control team for an
Drafting new medication policies and updating the existing ones.
Coordinating with the Quality team for safe use of medicines in hospital.
Conduct periodic training of doctors, nurses and pharmacists to upgrade their knowledge on medication policies and safe medication practices.
Supervise the pharmacists and nurses who are reconstituting the anti-cancer and anti-microbial drugs for administration to patients in wards, daycare, and intensive
Guide the clinical team members in their clinical trials regarding the pharmacodynamics and pharmacokinetics of drugs and the study design.
