Arranges and follows up, all actions involved in the vetting inspection procedure, develops the necessary reports and updates
the respective records, in order to facilitate its prompt and accurate completion in accordance with legislation and company
standards. Ensure OHSE, Energy and Environmental compliance policies are upheld.
Accurate Execution of Vetting Inspection
Organises and contributes in the accurate preparation of vetting inspections according to procedures and standards and reviews that all relevant documentation is timely prepared and forwarded for approval, in order to enable the execution of the inspection.
Liaises with all relevant parts for the development of vetting inspection plan and coordinates with the Inspection Bodies that are responsible for conducting the vetting inspections, for their travelling arrangements. Upon confirmation of attendance, informs TSI / Fleet manager for any associated costs, as well all involved Masters, FP, and Agents, in order to enable them proceed to all actions required prior to the vetting inspection.
Receives the results report of the vetting inspections, and forwards them to all relevant parts to inform them accordingly. Proceeds to the arrangement of meetings, i.e. closing reports, with the vetting inspectors, vessels’ Masters and ship management centre (SMC) representatives, in order to discuss findings and agree on corrective actions.
Supports Masters and Superintendents in preparing the closing reports and verifies that for every deficiency reported there have been proposed corrective actions, in order to meet the requirements of the vetting inspector and comply with legislation.
Develops analytical report concerning vetting inspection results and agreed actions and submits it to vessels; owners, in order to inform them accordingly.
Inspection’s Data Management
Creates and updates the records involved in each vetting inspection, in order to enable the thorough follow-up of vetting actions and future use of vetting results.
Requirements
Education and Qualifications:
Bachelor degree or Certificate in Maritime relevant Secondary School
Work Experience:
2 years offshore experience within a ship management/owning company
Job-Specific Skills:
Familiarity with the vessels’ technical operations
Knowledge of the OCIMF guidelines/ requirements
Good knowledge of maritime law/ procedures
Organisational skills
Communication skills
Fluency in English
Very good knowledge of the SMC’s national language
