Job Description

We are seeking a dynamic and experienced Regional Manager to oversee and direct field collection operations for a large geographic region, managing multiple Area Managers, Team Leaders, and Field Agents. This senior leadership role focuses on implementing regional strategies to optimize debt recovery, streamline operations, and ensure compliance with legal and company policies. The Regional Manager is responsible for setting performance targets, managing resources, analyzing data, and ensuring that the region meets or exceeds its financial objectives. Additionally, the role involves mentoring Area Managers and maintaining effective communication with upper management.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES:
Regional Strategy and Planning:
  1. Develop and implement strategic plans for the region to meet collection goals and optimize performance.
  2. Collaborate with senior management to align regional operations with the company s overall business objectives.
  3. Regularly assess market trends, debtor behavior, and regional economic conditions to adjust strategies.
Leadership of Area Managers:
  1. Lead, mentor, and manage a team of Area Managers responsible for overseeing their respective teams of Team Leaders and Field Agents.
  2. Set clear goals, KPIs, and performance expectations for Area Managers and monitor progress.
  3. Conduct regular performance reviews with Area Managers and provide coaching and guidance to improve their leadership capabilities.
Performance Management:
  1. Oversee and track the performance of all teams within the region to ensure collection targets are met.
  2. Review performance data from Area Managers and Team Leaders, identifying trends, areas for improvement, and successes.
  3. Address underperforming areas by implementing corrective measures, reallocating resources, or adjusting strategies.
Operational Oversight:
  1. Ensure efficient and cost-effective field operations, including travel, logistics, and resource management for all teams in the region.
  2. Monitor operational budgets, ensuring adherence to financial plans and optimizing costs without compromising performance.
  3. Standardize processes across the region to maintain consistency in field operations and collection methods.
Escalation Management:
  1. Handle high-priority cases or issues escalated by Area Managers, Team Leaders, or Field Agents.
  2. Resolve disputes or negotiations involving large debts, sensitive clients, or legal concerns.
  3. Collaborate with legal and compliance teams to handle cases that may require legal action.
Data Analysis and Reporting:
  1. Analyze data from across the region to identify key performance indicators, trends, and opportunities for improvement.
  2. Provide detailed reports to senior management on regional performance, challenges, and financial outcomes.
  3. Use data-driven insights to refine collection strategies and optimize resource allocation.
Compliance and Risk Management:
  1. Ensure that all collection activities in the region comply with company policies, local regulations, and legal standards.
  2. Conduct regular audits of field operations to verify compliance and mitigate risks.
  3. Implement and enforce risk management protocols to safeguard the company s interests and reputation.
Training and Development:
  1. Work with HR and training departments to develop and deliver training programs for Area Managers, Team Leaders, and Field Agents.
  2. Ensure that all staff are up-to-date on debt collection laws, ethical practices, and the latest tools/technologies.
  3. Promote a culture of continuous improvement and professional development within the region.
Client and Stakeholder Management:
  1. Build and maintain strong relationships with key clients, partners, and stakeholders in the region.
  2. Act as the senior point of contact for clients or customers with issues related to collections, ensuring their concerns are addressed effectively.
  3. Collaborate with other departments (finance, legal, customer service) to resolve issues or implement company-wide initiatives.

Growth and Expansion:
  1. Identify new opportunities to expand field operations or improve collection rates within the region.
  2. Develop plans for expanding into new markets or regions as part of the company s growth strategy.
  3. Recommend resource allocation changes, technology investments, or team expansions to improve overall regional performance.
Skills Required:
Leadership and Management Skills:
Exceptional leadership skills with the ability to manage and mentor a large and diverse team of Area Managers and Team Leaders.
Experience in conducting performance reviews, providing feedback, and implementing development plans.
Strong decision-making skills, particularly in high-pressure situations.
Strategic Thinking and Problem-Solving:
  1. Strong ability to think strategically, set long-term goals, and implement effective plans to achieve them.
  2. Excellent problem-solving skills to address operational inefficiencies, underperformance, or client issues.
  3. Analytical mindset with the ability to make data-driven decisions.
Communication and Negotiation:
  1. Excellent written and verbal communication skills, capable of engaging with senior management, clients, and field staff.
  2. High-level negotiation skills for resolving disputes, handling escalated cases, and closing significant debts.
Technical Skills:
  1. Proficiency in data analytics, financial reporting tools, and CRM/collections software.
  2. Ability to manage mobile technologies and systems used for field operations.
  3. Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite (Excel, Word, PowerPoint) for reporting and analysis.
Compliance and Legal Knowledge:
  1. Strong understanding of debt collection laws, compliance regulations, and industry standards.
  2. Familiarity with risk management practices and legal proceedings related to debt recovery.
Personal Attributes:
  1. High level of integrity and professionalism.
  2. Results-oriented with a focus on achieving and exceeding financial targets.
  3. Ability to manage high workloads and maintain attention to detail under pressure.
  4. Adaptable, flexible, and capable of working in a fast-paced environment.
Work Environment:
  1. Primarily office-based with regular travel across the region to visit Area Managers, team leaders, and key clients.
  2. Frequent travel may be required to manage multiple locations within the region.
  3. Requires the flexibility to work extended hours, especially during key reporting periods or to resolve urgent cases.
Performance Indicators:
  1. Overall debt recovery rate for the region.
  2. Achievement of regional collection goals and KPIs.
  3. Operational efficiency and cost management.
  4. Compliance with legal and company policies across all teams.
  5. Client and customer satisfaction and retention.
  6. Performance of Area Managers and their respective teams.
Career Path:
  1. National Operations Head or National Collections Manager.
  2. Senior roles in financial services, risk management, or operations.
  3. Executive leadership roles (e.g., Vice President or Director of Collections).
This role is critical for ensuring that the companys field collection operations are effective and efficient across the entire region. The Regional Manager must combine strategic oversight, leadership, and operational excellence to maximize recovery rates and support the companys overall financial health.
