About the Role

We are seeking a highly skilled and motivated Network Administrator to join our dynamic IT team. The ideal candidate will have 3 to 5 years of experience in managing, troubleshooting, and supporting network infrastructure and server environments, with expertise in switching, routing, and working with both physical and virtualized network setups. The role requires experience in managing network issues, supporting MAC, Linux, and Windows-based servers, and basic knowledge in Active Directory.

Key job responsibilities

Network Administration:
- Configure, manage, and troubleshoot network switches, routers, firewalls, and VPNs.
- Monitor and analyze network performance, resolving issues related to latency, downtime, and connectivity.
- Implement and maintain network security policies and configurations.
- Handle network-related escalations and perform root cause analysis for network issues.
- Perform network upgrades and manage network infrastructure.
Server Management:
- Administer and support MAC, Linux, and Windows Server environments, ensuring optimal performance.
- Manage server configurations, installations, updates, and patches.
- Assist with the installation and troubleshooting of hardware and software on servers.
- Monitor server performance and ensure uptime, taking corrective action when necessary.
Active Directory (AD) & User Management:
- Manage Active Directory services, including user account creation, password policies, group memberships, and permissions.
- Maintain Group Policy Objects (GPOs) and troubleshoot AD-related issues.
- Assist in the setup of new workstations and provide necessary IT support for new users.
Troubleshooting & Support:
- Provide technical support for end-users and resolve issues related to network connectivity, systems, and hardware.
- Investigate and resolve complex networking issues, including TCP/IP, DNS, DHCP, and routing problems.
- Work closely with vendors for the procurement of network hardware and software.
Documentation & Reporting:
- Maintain accurate documentation on system configurations, network setup, and troubleshooting procedures.
- Generate reports on network performance, server uptime, and security compliance.
Collaboration & Best Practices:
- Collaborate with other IT teams and departments to ensure smooth operation of network and server systems.
- Adhere to IT best practices and ensure systems are secure and reliable.

Requirements:

Bachelors degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or a related field (preferred).
3 to 5 years of experience in a system/network administration role, with hands-on experience in:
- Routing and Switching (Sonicwall, Juniper, Aruba or similar equipment).
- Network protocols such as TCP/IP, DNS, DHCP, and VPN.
- Active Directory management and GPO administration.
- Operating systems including Windows Server, Linux (Ubuntu, CentOS, etc.), and macOS.
- Troubleshooting network connectivity and system performance issues.

Skills:

Strong knowledge of network infrastructure, including switches, routers, and firewalls.
Proficient in managing and troubleshooting Windows Server, Linux, and macOS systems.
Experience with virtualization technologies (e.g., VMware, Hyper-V).
Solid understanding of security principles and practices in a networked environment.
Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal.
Ability to work independently and in a team environment.
Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
