The MEP BIM Modeller is responsible for creating detailed 3D models of mechanical, electrical, and plumbing systems for building projects using BIM software tools. This role involves collaborating with engineers, architects, and other stakeholders to ensure the accuracy, functionality, and integration of MEP systems within the overall building model. The modeller will also be responsible for ensuring that all MEP systems are compliant with local codes and industry standards.
Key Responsibilities: BIM Model Creation: Develop and maintain accurate 3D models for MEP systems, including HVAC, plumbing, electrical, fire protection, and other building services. Collaboration: Work closely with architects, structural engineers, and MEP engineers to coordinate and integrate various systems within the BIM model. Clash Detection: Perform clash detection and resolve conflicts between MEP systems and other building elements (structural, architectural). Drawing Production: Generate 2D drawings, construction documents, and technical specifications for MEP systems. BIM Standards: Ensure adherence to company standards, project specifications, and industry best practices in the development and management of MEP BIM models. Model Coordination: Assist with the preparation of coordinated models for review and approval by the project team. Project Documentation: Produce and manage BIM documentation for the MEP systems, including updates and revisions as required. Quality Control: Ensure high-quality deliverables through rigorous quality checks of models and drawings. Required Qualifications: Education:
Bachelors degree in Mechanical, Electrical, Civil Engineering, Construction Management, or a related field (preferred). Alternatively, a diploma or certification in MEP systems or BIM technology can be considered if combined with relevant experience. Experience:
Minimum of [3-8 years] of experience as a BIM modeller with a focus on MEP systems. Hands-on experience with software such as AutoCAD MEP, Revit MEP, Navisworks, or other BIM tools. Familiarity with the latest MEP design standards and building codes. Skills:
Proficiency in using BIM software (Revit, AutoCAD MEP, Navisworks, etc.). Strong understanding of MEP systems design and integration. Experience in performing clash detection and resolving model conflicts. Knowledge of international standards and building codes related to MEP systems. Excellent attention to detail and accuracy. Strong problem-solving and troubleshooting skills. Communication:
Ability to work well within a team environment and collaborate with multidisciplinary teams. Good written and verbal communication skills for producing reports and documentation. Certifications (Preferred):
Certification in Revit or other relevant BIM platforms.
