Purchase Coordinator

Role & responsibilities

• Research: Research new products and suppliers, and market trends to identify the best deals
• Ordering: Place orders for products based on inventory needs, and select vendors
• Tracking: Track shipments from manufacturing to retail stores or warehouses, and cross-reference deliveries with purchase orders
• Maintaining relationships: Build and maintain relationships with vendors and suppliers
• Negotiating: Negotiate contracts with suppliers
• Reporting: Prepare monthly reports on purchases, returns, and related costs
• Advising: Advise staff and faculty on appropriate items to purchase, and communicate purchasing options to project managers and superintendents
• Supporting: Support sales and finance departments by processing payments to sellers
