Job Description :


As the Vice President of Engineering, you will oversee the engineering division, ensuring the development and delivery of cutting-edge prepaid payment solutions. You will work closely with cross-functional teams, including product management, operations, and compliance, to drive product development from ideation to execution.

Your leadership will be key in building a high-performing engineering team, fostering innovation, and ensuring the scalability and security of our payment systems.

This is a senior leadership role that combines strategic vision, technical expertise, and team management skills. You will have the opportunity to make a significant impact on the future of the company and the prepaid payment industry.

Key Responsibilities :


Leadership & Team Management :


- Lead, mentor, and grow a diverse engineering team focused on designing and building innovative prepaid payment solutions.

- Drive a culture of collaboration, innovation, and continuous improvement within the engineering team.

- Set clear goals, expectations, and performance metrics to ensure engineering teams are aligned with business objectives.

- Manage resource allocation and prioritize engineering projects to ensure timely and efficient delivery of products and features.

Strategic Planning & Execution :


- Develop and execute a comprehensive engineering strategy that supports the company's overall vision and business goals.

- Collaborate with senior leadership (Product, Marketing, Operations, Legal, and Compliance) to align on priorities and ensure successful execution of new products, features, and enhancements.


- Stay up to date with industry trends, emerging technologies, and regulatory requirements to ensure our solutions remain competitive and compliant.

Technical Oversight & Innovation :


- Provide technical direction and oversight on the design and architecture of the company's prepaid payment platform.

- Ensure that all solutions are secure, scalable, and capable of handling large transaction volumes and diverse payment types.

- Lead the team in adopting best practices in software development, system architecture, and cybersecurity.

- Implement and improve agile methodologies to enhance team efficiency, code quality, and time-to-market.

Risk Management & Compliance :


- Ensure that engineering solutions comply with relevant industry standards, security protocols, and financial regulations (i.e., PCI DSS, GDPR, etc.

- Work closely with the legal and compliance teams to understand regulatory requirements and ensure technical solutions are designed with compliance in mind.

- Manage risk mitigation strategies related to technology, security, and operational disruptions.

Performance Metrics & Reporting :


- Define key performance indicators (KPIs) to measure the performance and success of engineering initiatives.

- Provide regular updates to senior management on engineering team performance, product development progress, and key milestones.

- Establish and enforce high standards for quality assurance, code reviews, testing, and documentation.

Qualifications :


Education : Bachelor's or Master's degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or related field. MBA or equivalent business management qualification is a plus.

Experience :


- At least 10 years of experience in software engineering, with at least 5 years in a leadership or management role, preferably in the fintech or payments industry.


- Proven experience in managing and scaling engineering teams and driving product delivery in a fast-paced, high-growth environment.

- Strong understanding of payment systems, including prepaid cards, digital wallets, transaction processing, and related technologies.

- In-depth knowledge of software development methodologies, cloud infrastructure, data security, and compliance frameworks in the financial services industry.

Skills :


- Strong leadership and communication skills, with the ability to influence and collaborate with executives, engineers, and cross-functional teams.

- Experience in setting up engineering processes, building high-performance teams, and fostering a positive and productive engineering culture.

- Strong technical acumen, with hands-on experience in software architecture, coding, and system design.

- Ability to balance technical excellence with business priorities to make data-driven decisions.

- Experience with Agile/Scrum methodologies and tools (i.e., Jira, Confluence).

- Understanding of risk management practices, especially in the context of financial technology and payments.

Preferred :


- Experience in the prepaid card and payment processing industry.

- Familiarity with blockchain, crypto, or alternative payment systems.

- Experience in working within highly regulated environments and managing compliance risks.
