Job Purpose:
The Assistant Manager - Finance & Accounts will be responsible for managing various finance and accounting activities, overseeing a team, and ensuring timely completion of deliverables.
Principal Accountabilities:
- Expected Results and Major Activities
- Seamless Financial Reporting and Audit Closure
- Prepare standalone & consolidated IND AS financial statements on a quarterly and annual basis.
- Coordinate with operations teams to ensure smooth financial reporting and timely completion of statutory/tax/TP audits.
- Manage interactions with Big Four firms for internal, statutory, and tax audits.
- Supervise audit tasks, including schedules, depreciation calculations, and reconciliations.
- Address audit queries to support the completion of audit targets.
- Maintain a proactive approach to handling statutory and tax audits.
- Prepare monthly MIS and various management reports.
Financial Planning & Analysis (FP&A):
- Coordinate with various departments to prepare annual corporate budgets, maintaining high standards for reporting and analysis.
- Prepare monthly cash flow statements and projections for multiple entities.
- Develop financial projections for various stakeholders.
- Timely Return Filing
- Ensure timely filing of Income Tax Returns in coordination with tax consultants.
- Provide financial information to the secretarial team for regulatory reporting (DPT, Board Reports, FLA, AOC-2, etc.).
- Stakeholder Management
- Liaise with internal and external stakeholders, including unit finance teams, consultants, auditors, and other departments.
- Assist in day-to-day accounting, financial reporting, and provide guidance to various units.
- Process and Data Management
- Follow established functional processes and recommend new practices.
- Maintain organized data management for the function's entire portfolio.
Major Challenges:
- Maintain frequent follow-ups to meet strict timelines.
- Serve as an independent contributor fully responsible for the finance function.
- Stay informed on all accounting standards changes to ensure compliance.
Key Decisions:
- The role involves making decisions related to: Monthly financial reporting, audits, and financial planning.
- Coordination with internal stakeholders, identifying and resolving bottlenecks to ensure timelines are met.
- Managing tax audit filings and income tax returns.
Dimensions:
- Compilation and review of information for operational units and the corporate office.
- Experience in a large organization with turnover exceeding INR 500 crore.
- Expertise in audits, financial closures, cash flow management, MIS reporting, ideally with experience in the hotel industry.
Skills and Knowledge:
Required Skills/Knowledge:
- Proficiency in IND AS financials.
- Strong MIS compilation and analytical skills.
- Knowledge of statutory and tax audits.
- Advanced MS Excel and Power BI skills.
- Experience with ERP systems (e.g., SUN Systems).
- Strong teamwork, data analysis, and presentation abilities.
- Effective stakeholder management.
- Educational Qualification: Chartered Accountant with 5+ years of post-qualification experience.
- Relevant Experience: 5-6 years of experience in Financial Reporting, FP&A, and Audits.
