Role & responsibilities

The E-Commerce Manager will be responsible for driving the growth of the company's online sales channels across e-commerce platforms and marketplaces. This role involves managing partnerships with e-commerce platforms, developing and executing strategies to maximize revenue, optimizing product listings, and ensuring seamless customer experiences. The ideal candidate will have strong knowledge of the FMCG industry and experience in leveraging digital tools and platforms to drive sales growth.


Strategic Planning & Execution:

  • Develop and implement the e-commerce strategy to drive sales, market share, and profitability.
  • Identify growth opportunities in online channels, including partnerships with marketplaces, e-grocers, and direct-to-consumer (D2C) platforms.
  • Align e-commerce plans with the overall sales and marketing strategies.

Marketplace & Partner Management:

  • Build and maintain relationships with key e-commerce platforms such as Amazon, Flipkart, BigBasket, Grofers, Jiomart, and others.
  • Negotiate terms, promotional opportunities, and placement with e-commerce partners.
  • Ensure product availability and timely fulfillment across platforms.

Product Listings & Content Optimization:

  • Oversee the creation and optimization of product listings, including descriptions, images, and keywords, to enhance visibility and conversion.
  • Ensure compliance with platform-specific guidelines and industry standards.
  • Regularly update product content to align with new launches, promotions, and campaigns.

Performance Analysis & Reporting:

  • Monitor e-commerce KPIs, including sales performance, traffic, conversion rates, and ROI on campaigns.
  • Use analytics tools to generate insights and optimize strategies.
  • Prepare regular performance reports for senior management.

Promotions & Campaign Management:

  • Plan and execute promotional campaigns, including discounts, bundles, and platform-specific sales (e.g., Amazon Great Indian Festival, Flipkart Big Billion Days).
  • Work closely with marketing teams to align digital campaigns with e-commerce goals.
  • Monitor competitor activity and respond with targeted promotions and strategies.

Inventory & Supply Chain Coordination:

  • Collaborate with the supply chain team to ensure optimal inventory levels and fulfillment efficiency.
  • Address stockouts and overstock situations proactively.
  • Track and manage logistics performance for timely delivery and order accuracy.

Customer Experience Management:

  • Ensure a seamless and engaging online shopping experience for customers.
  • Monitor reviews and ratings on e-commerce platforms, responding to feedback to improve satisfaction.
  • Drive loyalty and retention strategies for repeat customers.


Preferred candidate profile


  • MBA/PGDM in Marketing, Sales, or E-Commerce Management.
  • 1012 years of experience in FMCG sales, marketing, or e-commerce operations.
  • Proven track record of driving growth in e-commerce sales and managing online platforms.
  • Strong knowledge of e-commerce platforms, tools, and best practices in the FMCG sector.
  • Proficiency in data analysis to derive actionable insights and optimize performance.
  • Understanding of SEO, SEM, and digital advertising to enhance online visibility.
  • Ability to negotiate and manage relationships with e-commerce partners.
  • Focus on delivering a superior customer experience.
  • Quick to respond to changes in the fast-paced e-commerce environment.
