Manufacturing Manager

Role & responsibilities

We are looking for an experienced Technical / Manufacturing Head to lead the end-to-end setup of a new sanitary pad manufacturing plant in Nashik, India. The ideal candidate will be responsible for project planning, infrastructure development, technology selection, process optimization, and ensuring compliance with industry standards. This role requires a deep understanding of production processes, automation, quality control, and regulatory requirements in the hygiene and personal care sector.

Key Responsibilities:

Plant Setup & Commissioning:

• Oversee the site selection, layout design, and infrastructure planning for the new plant.
• Evaluate and procure machinery, raw materials, and technology required for sanitary pad production.
• Ensure compliance with local regulatory and environmental guidelines for manufacturing.
• Collaborate with architects, civil engineers, and vendors to ensure timely plant setup.
• Develop and implement SOPs (Standard Operating Procedures) for the production process.

Production & Operations Management:

• Define manufacturing processes, quality control protocols, and safety procedures.
• Optimize production efficiency, material utilization, and cost-effectiveness.
• Implement automation, lean manufacturing, and best practices to improve productivity.
• Set up inventory management, supply chain, and logistics strategies.
• Hire, train, and lead the technical & production teams.

Quality Assurance & Compliance:

• Establish quality control measures to ensure sanitary pads meet hygiene, safety, and durability standards.
• Ensure compliance with ISO, GMP, BIS (Bureau of Indian Standards), and FDA norms.
• Implement a waste management & sustainability plan for the plant.

Technology & Innovation:

• Stay updated with new technologies, automation trends, and eco-friendly materials in hygiene product manufacturing.
• Explore biodegradable, organic, and sustainable sanitary pad production methods.

Financial & Business Support:

• Develop budgets, cost analysis, and operational expense forecasts.
• Work closely with procurement, finance, and supply chain teams to optimize costs.
• Identify local and international suppliers for machinery, raw materials, and packaging.

Preferred candidate profile

Educational Qualification:

• Bachelors / Masters degree in Mechanical Engineering, Production Engineering, Industrial Engineering, or related field.

Experience:

• 12+ years of experience in plant setup, manufacturing operations, and process engineering in the hygiene, or medical device industry.
• Prior experience in sanitary pad, diaper, tissue paper, or hygiene product manufacturing is a strong plus.
• Experience in automation, lean manufacturing, and large-scale production units.
