Design Engineers

Position Overview:

We are seeking an experienced and creative SolidWorks Mechanical Designer to support the design and development of furniture products for the retail industry. In this role, you will collaborate with product managers, engineers, and manufacturing teams to create 3D models, technical drawings, and prototypes that meet the aesthetic and functional needs of our clients.

Key Responsibilities:

• Use SolidWorks to create detailed 3D models, assemblies, and technical drawings for retail furniture products.
• Develop and iterate on product designs, ensuring that they are manufacturable, cost-eective, and meet the highest standards of quality.
• Work closely with the engineering and production teams to ensure designs are optimized for manufacturability, assembly, and durability.
• Collaborate with the design team to integrate materials, finishes, and hardware into product designs.
• Conduct design reviews, identifying and solving any design challenges.
• Provide design support for prototyping and product testing, ensuring that designs meet functional and safety requirements.
• Create BOMs (Bill of Materials) and support the development of assembly instructions and production documentation.
• Assist in the selection of materials and hardware, considering factors such as strength, durability, and aesthetic appeal.
• Stay up-to-date with industry trends, new technologies, and design best practices related to retail furniture design.

Qualifications:

• Bachelors degree in Mechanical Engineering, Industrial Design, or related field, or equivalent work experience.
• Proven experience with SolidWorks for 3D modeling, assembly design, and technical drawing creation (3+ years preferred).
• Strong understanding of mechanical design principles, materials, and manufacturing processes, particularly within the furniture or retail industry.
• Experience designing for mass production, with a focus on manufacturability, cost optimization, and product quality.
• Knowledge of wood, metal, and other common materials used in furniture design is a plus.
• Strong communication and collaboration skills, with the ability to work effectively in a cross-functional team environment.
• Detail-oriented with strong problem-solving skills.
• Ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously and meet deadlines.
• Experience with other design software (AutoCAD, Rhino, SketchUp) is a plus.
