Head Quality Control

Job Summary

The Manager - Quality Control will be responsible for overseeing the entire quality control process within the electronics manufacturing unit. The role will involve developing, implementing, and ensuring adherence to quality control standards, managing QC teams, and ensuring the production of defect-free products. This position will also include coordinating with production teams, suppliers, and customers to resolve quality-related issues.

Key Responsibilities

1. Quality Control Management:

• Develop, implement, and maintain quality control processes and procedures for electronics manufacturing operations.
• Ensure products meet company standards, customer specifications, and relevant regulatory requirements.
• Establish quality benchmarks and KPIs, regularly monitor performance, and take corrective actions as needed.

2. Team Leadership:

• Lead, train, and manage the Quality Control team to ensure high-performance standards.
• Allocate resources, assign tasks, and monitor team performance.
• Conduct regular training sessions to keep the team updated on new quality standards, testing methods, and industry best practices.

3. Inspection and Testing:

• Supervise and coordinate the inspection of incoming raw materials, components, and sub-assemblies.
• Oversee in-process and final product inspections to ensure conformity to specifications.
• Implement and optimize testing methodologies for product performance, functionality, and durability.

4. Root Cause Analysis & Corrective Actions:

• Lead root cause analysis for quality issues, product defects, or non-conformities.
• Drive corrective and preventive actions (CAPA) to eliminate recurring quality problems.
• Collaborate with production, design, and engineering teams to implement corrective measures.

5. Supplier Quality Management:

• Assess, audit, and monitor suppliers quality assurance processes to ensure the supply of high-quality components.
• Develop and maintain strong relationships with suppliers and conduct regular supplier evaluations.
• Manage supplier non-conformance and drive improvements through quality agreements and audits.

6. Compliance and Documentation:

• Ensure all products comply with international and national quality standards (e.g., ISO 9001, RoHS, CE).
• Maintain comprehensive quality documentation and reports for internal audits, customer audits, and regulatory inspections.
• Prepare and present quality performance reports to senior management and stakeholders.

7. Process Improvement:

• Identify areas for process improvement and efficiency in production and quality control.
• Lead or participate in Lean, Six Sigma, and other process improvement initiatives.
• Implement statistical process control (SPC) and other tools to monitor and improve product quality.

8. Customer Interaction:

• Address and resolve customer complaints and quality issues promptly.
• Coordinate with the customer support team to provide technical support related to product quality.
• Liaise with customers during audits or visits to demonstrate the company's commitment to quality.

Skills & Qualifications:

Educational Qualification:

• Diploma, Bachelor's or Master's degree in Electronics Engineering, Electrical Engineering, or a related field.
• Certification in Quality Management Systems (ISO 9001, Six Sigma, etc.) is a plus.

Experience:

• Minimum 8-10 years of experience in quality control within an electronics manufacturing environment.
• Proven experience in leading a quality control team and managing product quality at various stages of production.
• Hands-on experience with various quality testing equipment, inspection methods, and process improvement techniques.

Technical Skills:

• Strong understanding of electronics manufacturing processes, including PCB assembly, SMT, and final product assembly.
• Proficient in statistical analysis tools (SPC, Minitab, etc.) and quality management software.
• Knowledge of international quality standards such as ISO, RoHS, and CE certification.

Leadership Skills:

• Excellent leadership and team management skills, with the ability to motivate and develop a high-performance team.
• Strong problem-solving and decision-making capabilities.
• Ability to work under pressure and handle multiple tasks simultaneously.
