Job Description:
We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Chartered Accountant (CA) with a strong background in broking or financial services. As a key member of our finance team, the successful candidate will be responsible for managing financial records, ensuring regulatory compliance, conducting financial analysis, and providing strategic insights to support the business's financial goals.
Key Responsibilities:
Financial Reporting & Analysis:
- Prepare and present accurate financial statements, including balance sheets, profit & loss, and cash flow statements in compliance with accounting standards.
- Conduct regular financial analysis to identify trends, variances, and opportunities for cost reduction.
- Liaise with auditors for annual audits and ensure compliance with relevant accounting standards and regulations.
Regulatory Compliance & Taxation:
- Ensure compliance with regulatory requirements specific to the broking industry, including SEBI, stock exchanges, and other relevant bodies.
- Prepare tax returns and manage GST, income tax, TDS, and other tax filings.
- Oversee and manage the calculation and filing of regulatory fees and duties.
Brokerage Accounting:
- Manage the accounting and reconciliation of trading and settlement accounts for broking activities.
- Track client funds, margin accounts, and transaction settlements, ensuring accuracy and compliance.
- Ensure proper recording of commission and brokerage income, and any adjustments related to trading activity.
Cash Management:
- Monitor cash flow, manage working capital, and ensure liquidity for daily operations.
- Oversee bank reconciliations and optimize cash utilization across various business functions.
Internal Controls:
- Develop and implement internal controls to safeguard company assets and ensure accuracy in financial transactions.
- Conduct periodic internal audits and ensure compliance with internal policies and industry standards.
Strategic Financial Planning:
- Support the finance team in preparing annual budgets, financial forecasts, and long-term strategic plans.
- Provide financial advice to senior management and assist in decision-making regarding business expansion, cost optimization, and capital expenditure.
Risk Management:
- Identify financial risks within the broking business and develop strategies to mitigate potential risks.
- Monitor market trends and recommend adjustments in risk management policies to protect the company's financial position.
Qualifications:
Education & Certification:
- Qualified Chartered Accountant (CA) from a recognized institution.
- Additional qualifications related to financial services, risk management, or taxation will be a plus
Experience:
- Minimum 3-8 years of experience as a Chartered Accountant with hands-on experience in a broking company or financial services firm.
- Strong understanding of financial instruments, capital markets, brokerage operations, and relevant regulations (SEBI, stock exchange rules, etc.).
- Experience with trading and settlement reconciliation, margin financing, and brokerage income recognition.
Skills & Competencies:
- Proficiency in accounting software (Tally, SAP, or similar platforms).
- Strong analytical, communication, and interpersonal skills.
- Excellent attention to detail and ability to work under pressure and meet deadlines.
- In-depth knowledge of financial reporting standards (IFRS/Ind AS) and taxation laws.
- Knowledge of financial analysis, forecasting, and budgeting.
