Building Performance Modelling Consultant

We are a growing international consultancy specializing in sustainable design and energy efficiency for the built environment. With a strong commitment to delivering innovative and impactful solutions, we are seeking an experienced Energy and Sustainability Consultant to join our dynamic team. This role focuses on Dynamic Simulation Modelling (DSM) and expertise in software like IES-VE, TAS, or Design Builder to optimize building performance for projects worldwide.

Role & responsibilities

• Perform building performance simulations and energy modelling using IES-VE, TAS, or similar tools.
• Analyse building designs and provide recommendations to improve energy efficiency and sustainability.
• Collaborate with architects, engineers, and project stakeholders to integrate energy strategies into design processes.
• Conduct thermal comfort assessments and overheating risk analysis based on global best practices (e.g., ASHRAE standards).
• Develop energy and carbon strategies for both residential and commercial projects.
• Prepare clear, concise reports and presentations for clients, highlighting key findings and recommendations.
• Stay updated on international standards, trends, and advancements in energy modelling and sustainable design.

Preferred candidate profile

• Bachelors or Masters degree in Mechanical, Civil, Environmental Engineering, Architecture, or a related field.
• Proficiency in IES-VE, TAS or Design Builder software for energy modelling.
• Strong understanding of building physics and HVAC systems.
• Familiarity with international standards such as ASHRAE or LEED, or other global sustainability frameworks.
• Excellent analytical skills and attention to detail.
• Strong written and verbal communication skills for client interaction and report preparation.
• Ability to work independently and manage multiple projects simultaneously.

Desirable (but not mandatory)

• Experience with Life Cycle Assessments (LCA) and tools like OneClick LCA.
• Exposure to BREEAM, WELL, or similar global sustainability certifications.
• Understanding of parametric modelling tools like Grasshopper or Rhino.
