Job Description

Plan and control the flow of work for a mining project, including estimating time, supplies and personnel required for completing the project to ensure that projects are being carried out according to established plan.
Direct and monitor the mining contract for adherence. Act as Owners representative and liaise with the mining contractors on a regular scheduled basis. Ensure daily implementation of mine plans, directing, reviewing and analyzing contractors feedback to ensure the requirements defined in the plan are incorporated into the works and the responsibilities allocated under the grade control/ product quality system are understood and followed.
Prepare, control and implement project budgets, production schedules, project reporting, progress assessment and project execution plan, take personal responsibility and accountability for cash outflow, product sales and return on capital of the project to ensure budgets are met with operational needs and requirements.
Interface and coordinate contractor activities to ensure that they support the achievement of project aims and company objectives
Monitor contractors equipment utilization and efficiencies, maintaining schedule compliance on planned maintenance in order to optimize asset utilization.
Take responsibility and accountability of company resources used by contractors such as diesel and other consumables.
Scrutinize and certify contractor claims and back charges on invoice settlement as required to ensure that progress claims are submitted and paid in a timely manner
Plan, analyze and establish detailed cost forecasts, manage variations and timely address contractors points of disagreement to maximize returns on investment
Direct, control and manage all statutory permits and approvals as required to proceed with the mining activities and ensure all permits and formalities are complete and valid.
Maintain and manage all stakeholders interests to ensure harmonious and cooperative relationships in industrial relations, community relations and staff welfare in all aspects of the project
Maintain and implement HSE programs including Environmental Management System to ensure the effectiveness of the programs conform to statutory re and mining industry requirements.
