Job Summary

We are seeking a Procurement Engineer/Team Lead for the coir industry to oversee vendor identification, supplier management, and procurement operations. The role involves negotiating contracts, ensuring a steady supply of quality raw materials, and maintaining long-term supplier relationships.

Key Responsibilities

Supplier Identification & Management

• Identify, evaluate, and onboard reliable vendors for coir raw materials and related products.
• Conduct supplier assessments, ensuring compliance and proper documentation.
• Maintain strong supplier relationships and address any issues efficiently.

Cost & Quality Control

• Negotiate pricing and terms while maintaining quality standards.
• Identify cost-saving opportunities without compromising product quality.

Procurement & Inventory Coordination

• Ensure timely material availability by collaborating with procurement, production, and QA teams.
• Manage inventory, purchase orders, and supplier schedules to prevent shortages or overstocking.

Market Research & Development

• Stay updated on market trends, price fluctuations, and new supplier opportunities.
• Develop alternative vendor sources to reduce dependency on single suppliers.
• Explore sustainable procurement strategies.

Compliance & Risk Management

• Ensure vendor adherence to company policies, ethical standards, and industry regulations.
• Identify and mitigate supply chain risks.

Field Team Hiring & Management

• Hire, train, and manage field executives responsible for sourcing coconut husk and coir pith.
• Set performance targets and ensure efficient field operations.
• Monitor and guide field teams to resolve sourcing challenges.
