The impact you will have in this role:

Enterprise Product Platform Engineering (EPPE) is a DTCC Global Network. The Mainframe Strategic Engineering team is responsible for existing products including z/OS WebSphere Application Server (WASz) and Liberty, z/OS Connect (zCEE), ZOLDA and the Content Data Provider (CDP), and Content Server from System ware. The team is also responsible for the evaluation and installation of new technologies.

What Youll Do:

• Responsible for all aspects of mainframe storage managements. This includes researching, architecting, installing, networking, programming, maintaining, administrating, operating, and monitoring all storage related hardware and software associated with storage for the enterprise.
• Responsible for customer/user interfacing, storage allocations, day-to-day operations, backup/recovery, and disaster recovery planning and execution as it relates to the storage environment.
• Expected to have a strong knowledge base in all facets of storage devices and storage networks for the mainframe environment and manage/implement projects within the area.
• Capable of representing the area at meetings with both vendors and with other areas of the company such as Applications Development, Project Planning, IT Operations, Information Security and Facilities. Will be responsible for handling projects, and assuring timelines are met in accordance with project management standards. The individual will work closely with other areas to assure that all requirements for equipment installation are met in a timely manner. Encouraged to be able to create and update user documentation
• Knowledge of current and leading technologies in all areas of Information Systems through vendor demonstrations, trade show exhibits, professional society memberships (, etc), enabling them to assess trends and technologies and their application within the DTCC environment.

Education :

• Bachelors or Master s degree in Information Technology.

Talents Needed for Success:

• Minimum of 7+ years of related experience.
• Strong knowledge of z/OS software and hardware architecture (especially as related to data storage), including strong problem diagnosis skills, and familiarity with SMP/E.
• Strong understanding of many of the following storage hardware technologies: EMC Symmetric (including its replication features), EMC PowerMax, Brocade DCX, IBM TS7700.
• Strong understanding of many of the following storage software technologies: DFSMS (including SMS ACS code and constructs), DFSMSdss, DFSMShsm, RMM, CR Plus, IBM Utilities
• Ability to program in REXX. SAS programming would be a plus.
• Knowledge of the following would be a plus: SQL, Assembler, COBOL, DTS Software ACC and SRS products, RACF
• Knowledge of distributed storage technologies would be a plus.
• Excellent project management skills, including the ability to coordinate multiple responsible groups and request processes in parallel, so that complex projects can move ahead expeditiously.
• Excellent verbal and written communication skills as well as organizational Skills.
• Must mentor and provide direction for staff members.
• Strong familiarity with PC software, especially Microsoft Excel and Word.
