The impact you will have in this role:

The Database Administrator will provide database administrative support for all DTCC environments including Development, QA, client test, and our critical high availability production environment and DR Data Centers. Extensive knowledge on all aspects of Oracle database administration and the ability to support other database platforms including both Aurora PostgreSQL and MS SQL-Server. This DBA will have a high level of impact in the generation of new processes and solutions, while operating under established procedures and processes in an important Financial Services infrastructure environment.

What Youll Do:

• Software installation and patching.
• Database creation and configuration.
• Support development, QA, PSE, and Production environments using ServiceNow ticketing system.
• Review production performance reports for variances from normal operation.
• Maintain database performance by calculating optimum values for database parameters; implementing new releases; completing maintenance requirements; evaluating computer operating systems and hardware products.
• Provide 2nd and 3rd level support for DTCC critical production environments.
• Participate in root cause analysis for database issues.
• Supports database functions by designing and coding utilities.
• Prepare users by conducting training; providing information; and resolving problems.
• Maintains quality service by establishing and enforcing organizational standards.
• Maintains professional and technical knowledge by attending educational workshops; reviewing professional publications; establishing personal networks; benchmarking innovative practices; participating in professional societies.
• Will have shared responsibility for off-hour support.
• Recommending and implementing database backup, recovery, and redundancy strategies.
• Provide leadership and direction for the Architecture, Design, Maintenance and L1 and L2 Level Support of a 7 x 24 global infrastructure.

Education:

Bachelor s degree preferred or equivalent work experience.

Talents Needed for Success:

• Strong Oracle knowledge of 19c, 21c and 22c.
• A minimum 7+ years of proven relevant experience.
• Strong knowledge in MSSQL Server, Aurora Postgres database, Python and Angular.
• Working knowledge of Oracle s Golden gate Replication technology.
• Working knowledge of O/S and Disk Management, working knowledge with SQL.
• Hands on experience with Oracle RAC and OEM Grid Control/Cloud Control.
• Hands on experience in python, Ansible and other scripting languages to automate the tasks.
• Ability to work with a high degree of latitude while adhering to established process and procedures.
• Good understanding in both how databases fit into systems and how application changes will influence database performance.

Primary Skills:

• Should have worked as a L2 and L3 Engineer or above in managing large scale Oracle, MSSQL and PostgreSQL environments.
• Demonstrate strong performance Tuning and Optimization skills in Oracle, MSSQL and PostgreSQL databases.
• Strong Experience in Database patching, database upgrade, OEM
• Strong experience in oracle table partition, RMAN backup, Memory settings and database performance tuning.
• Possess strong Knowledge of operating systems (Unix / Linux), Shell scripting, Perl/Python scripting.
• Strong experience in managing High availability / High scalability DB clusters.
• Be able to handle tasks and projects independently with minimum guidance and directions.
• Strong experience in Backup and restore processes.
• Possess Excellent communication skills and ability to coordinate with various stake holders.
• Follow best practices on Change management / Incident management / Problem management.
• Good team player and should have worked with diverse global teams.
• Willing to work on emerging technologies.
• Demonstrated ability to solve complex systems and database environment issues.
• Demonstrated ability to work in a complex environment to determine business and customer needs and provide the best solution needed.

Secondary Skills

• Strong knowledge on AWS cloud technologies
• Knowledge on ITIL, Processes would be an added advantage.
• Should be able to understand interlaying technologies like Networking, Applications, and its impact to Database.
