Pediatric Consultant

Job Title: Pediatrician

Reports to: Head of Pediatrics/ Medical Director

Location: Dr. Muthus Hospital, Coimbatore

Job Summary:

We are seeking an experienced Pediatrician to join our team at Dr. Muthus Hospital, Coimbatore. The successful candidate will be responsible for providing high-quality medical care to infants, children, and adolescents, as well as contributing to the development and growth of our Pediatrics department.

Key Responsibilities:

1. Clinical Responsibilities:

- Examine, diagnose, and treat infants, children, and adolescents with various medical conditions.

- Prescribe medications, order diagnostic tests, and perform procedures as necessary.

- Provide preventive care, including vaccinations, health education, and guidance on nutrition and lifestyle.

2. Patient Care:

- Develop and implement treatment plans tailored to individual patient needs.

- Collaborate with other healthcare professionals, including nurses, therapists, and specialists, to ensure comprehensive care.

- Communicate effectively with patients, families, and caregivers to provide emotional support and education.

3. Departmental Responsibilities:

- Participate in departmental meetings, quality improvement initiatives, and peer review activities.

- Contribute to the development and implementation of departmental policies, procedures, and guidelines.

- Mentor and supervise junior doctors, medical students, and other healthcare professionals.

4. Administrative Responsibilities:

- Maintain accurate and up-to-date medical records, including patient charts and electronic health records.

- Participate in hospital-wide initiatives, such as quality improvement, patient safety, and risk management.

Requirements:

- MBBS with MD/DNB Pediatrics or equivalent qualification.

- 4-7 years of experience in Pediatrics, preferably in a hospital setting.

- Strong clinical skills, with expertise in managing various pediatric conditions.

- Excellent communication, interpersonal, and problem-solving skills.

- Ability to work effectively in a team environment and collaborate with other healthcare professionals.

- Familiarity with electronic health records and other healthcare software.
