Qualification:
1. BSc / Post BSc Nursing with minimum 05 /07 years of experience.
Registration with Delhi Nursing Council is mandatory .
SENIOR STAFF NURSE / Asstt. Nursing Supdt, is responsible for the total nursing care and supervision of patients, administrative and management of nursing services in the Hospital: -
A) NURSING CARE:-
1. Assist in total needs of patients in the Hospital and ensure delivery of best nursing care .
2. Supervise and monitor the nursing care of patients in IPD and other areas in the hospital.
3. Attend to regular round in the hospital with the Doctors and ensure implementation of instructions by the nursing staff.
4. Attend to the patient visiting in the OPD and facilitate coordination with reception staff and doctors for consultation.
5. Reviewing reports from junior nurses regarding nursing care of patients in each shifts including on Sundays and holidays .
6. Give counseling and health education to the patients and their attendants.
7. Ensure BMW rules are strictly implemented and supervise segregation of BMW as per the policy
8. Ensure infection control practices are implemented across the organization with aim to reduce HAI in the hospitals .
9. Supervise and ensure nurses are trained in recording Vital Parameter, Bed Making, Sample collection, Drug Administration(Oral ,I/V,I/M,S/C), Ryles tube feeding, Catheterization, Enema, Oxygen administration, Nebulization, ECG, Dressing, Suturing and Oro –Naso suction.
10. Train and supervise nursing staff in Assisting in advanced nursing procedure like Lumbar puncture, Pleural tapping, abdominal paracentesis, Removal of tubes & catheters, Chest Aspiration, Tracheostomy care, Care of critically sick patients and Care of patients on Ventilator and other life saving equipment’s.
11. Participation in staff education, staff meeting and other professional activities.
12. Handing over and taking charge of shift and Keeping the ward clean and tidy.
13. Preparation of surgical supplies, bandage, pre and post op care of patients
14. Routine care and cleaning of dressing trolleys, cupboards, and equipment’s as per policy and procedure .
15. Ensure availability of clean and sterilized linens in OPD ,IPD, OT and procedure room all the time
16. Ensure availability and Maintenance of stock registers, inventories., admission an discharge registers, OT register , fumigation register , death register and procedure register in the entire hospital.
17. Responsible for admission ,discharge, transfer within and outside hospital, emergency resuscitation and scheduling of patient for procedure /surgery
18. Assist the doctors in skin ,hair and nail procedure including use of lasers , PRP, Micro-needling , Cosmetic Skin surgery , use of Cautery and RF ablation and hair transplantation. .
B) WARD MANAGEMENT:-
1. Plan and arrange duty for all nursing staff in the hospital
2. To ensure availability of adequate nursing staff in all shifts and as per patient load and hospital requirement .
3. Ensure maintenance of cleanliness of patient room , bed sheets , blankets and wash room to reduce infections in the hospitals.
4. Interact with the engineering ,biomedical , maintenance and other support service department for proper upkeep and smooth functioning of Patient care services .
5. Keeping Medical superintendent informed of the needs of the patients in the hospitals and bring it to his notice for any special needs or problems.
6. Guide the junior staff to ensure adequate inventory of supplies and equipment’s is available in the IPD and OPD area and regular checking of inventory is ensured. .
7. Daily check of emergency and life saving drugs, life saving equipment’s i.e. monitors, ventilators, defibrillators, suction machines and O2 points etc., to ensure their proper functioning.
8. Periodical check of all stocks and supplies in the OPD,IPD ,OT and wards
9. Maintain good inter-personnel relationship with all categories of staff, doctors patients and their relatives.
10. Maintain good public relation with patients relatives and the public visiting the hospital
11. Ensure disciple of nursing staff including wearing of nursing dress and maintain punctuality.
12. Supervise and implementation of Hospital wide policies, procedures and follow HR rules
13. Daily check of attendance and ensure staff report in time and report unauthorized absence to the HR department and MS office immediately .
14. Ensure rotation of the nursing staff in various department to improve nursing care services.
15. Ensure life saving equipment’s and emergency drugs are available in the Operation theatre and check for their expiry and maintain proper inventory .
16. Ensure OT sterility is maintained all the time including cleanliness and fumigation as per best nursing practices.
17. Ensure BMW is segregated in color coded dust bins, transported in covered trolleys and stored in the designated storage area as per the BMW guidelines.
18. Ensure and supervise training of all staff including nursing, house keeping and lab technician on handling BMW and proper hand washing , wearing of PPE kits during handling and transportation of BMW .
C. TEACHING AND SUPERVISION:
1. Plan and implement a proper orientation programme for all new joinee in the hospital.
2. Teach and supervise bed side teaching on nursing protocols and procedure .
3. Participate in in-service education of nursing personnel and attend to all the meetings
4. Supervise and train the junior nursing staff on bed side patient procedures and monitor on patient care activities .
