As a Mainframes SQM Infrastructure Engineer, you will play a critical role in ensuring the quality of infrastructure-related changes and projects, such as PTFs, upgrades, integrations, and emergency fixes. You will be responsible for coordinating infrastructure testing activities, analyzing schedules, and resolving infrastructure-related issues.
Key Responsibilities:
Infrastructure Testing:
Coordinate and execute infrastructure testing activities for changes and projects.
Maintain test plans, test cases, and test scripts.
Analyze test results and identify potential issues.
Collaborate with development and operations teams to resolve defects and improve test coverage.
Incident Management:
Respond to and resolve infrastructure-related incidents promptly and effectively.
To prevent future incidents, conduct a root cause analysis.
Process Improvement:
Identify opportunities to automate testing processes and improve efficiency.
Implement best practices for infrastructure testing and quality assurance.
Collaboration:
Work closely with infrastructure, application, and operations teams to ensure smooth delivery of projects and changes.
Work with business stakeholders to understand their requirements and meet them.
Required Skills and Experience:
Strong understanding of z/OS operating system, TSO, ISPF, JCL, JES2/JES3, and other mainframe technologies.
Experience with mainframe database systems (DB2, IMS) and networking concepts.
Knowledge of ITIL processes and tools (e.g., ServiceNow)
Strong analytical and problem-solving skills

Experience with automation tools (e.g., Ansible, Puppet)
